Mockery = outrage?
Methinks not....
I dont care what Bush did, other than it being funny! I only pointed it out because it shows the hypocracy of the Obama haters!
Obama.What???
I must have missed that... who did it?
i've heard or read nothing to suggest that...if it was equal bow with the emporer first, then presumbly its fine....but i find it odd that no one would have mentioned it....i heard tom hartman on the radio this morning talking about it and he never mentioned that....he solely mentioned that the japanese people approve of it because obama understood their culture and respected their culture by bowing to the emporer as they do....
do you agree obama broke centuries old protocol of not bowing to foreign heads of state?
Obama.
My pussy hurts sooo bad!
I neither agree nor disagree. As I stated, the picture does not tell us what occurred before or after it was taken. If Obama bowed first and the Emperor returned the gesture to the same degree, then it is no big deal. If the Emperor bowed first and Obama returned the gesture, then it is no big deal.
If Obama bowed first and the Emperor did not return it, then it is a snub and a breach of protocol by the Emperor.
If the Emperor bowed first and Obama returned it with a lower bow, then Obama messed up protocol.
I have no problem with Obama adhering to the protocol of the country he is in. We expect foreign heads of state to adhere to ours when they come here. We should do no less when going to their countries. That said, we need to make sure Obama is aware of the significance of the countries protocols when visiting.
I am not saying he did nor did not in this case as again, we only have a photo and not the meeting of the two in its entirety.
I don't know. It was supposedly to make up for those DVDs he fobbed off on Gordon Browns... It actually contained footage of her visit to the US in 2007, where Bush messed up and misspoke (surprise, surprise) and suggested that she was alive to celebrate 1776 rather than the Bicentennial in 1976. She gave him a stern look and he said something foolish like, "She gave me a look only a mother could give to her child..."lol... how the hell did I miss that one...
i just found a video....the emporer did not bow....
video at link, only 30 seconds....
obama walks in, extends his hand for a shake and bows simultaneously, the emporer stood straight but took his hand....and obama bowed much lower to the emporer than his shorter wife, obama basically gave a head nod to the emporess....

Wrong they all bowed.
I don't know, somebody who would bring the queen an iPod with the "Best of Obama's Speeches" on it could certainly be that uncouth.

It also contained show tunes, 40 of them in all. Broadway show tunes, and a copy of a songbook from "The King and I" signed by Hammerstein.
Claptrap.
Here's the list of downloads and there are two fricking speeches on it.
Is is possible for RWs to have a bigger hissy over nothing?

Do you have a link showing that? Because in that video, it did not appear as though the Emperor returned it... at least not to the same level.
