Independent Study: Air in East Palestine IS Toxic

I wonder when we'll find that the Governor of Ohio drank polluted water too...

When the EPA (Yes the actual EPA) spilled toxic chemicals into the Animas river from a mine in Colorado they didn't clean up after themselves, Obama even said they "should" but would not, because they were "not required" to do so. They didn't even pay for it. I'm beginning to notice that the EPA doesn't do what it says it does. Protecting the Environment is not part of their function apparently, they provide cover for the government from responsibility when they cause environmental disasters, in no way do they seem to "Protect the Environment."

Bottom line is money here in America. Underfunded government entities are always a bit of a shitshow. Just look at the VA, for example.

The EPA did not recommend the burn. That is false. It was the company and local officials.

In consultation with the EPA...

According to the EPA official there:

“The controlled burn decision was made by both the governors of Pennsylvania and Ohio in consultation with how EPA could respond to that in terms of monitoring the air and the impacts. And so the state made a decision, and we were prepared for that decision,” Regan said.

Anyway, what happened was the local guys said, "It's leaking, what if we burn it?" and the EPA said, "Yeah, we can handle the repercussions of that decision." and then they simply didn't.

They simply washed their hands like Pontius Pilate and told everyone that the air was FINE... <- This part here is where you know that the EPA is not even trying to do their job. Even kids who can't read yet knew that this wasn't right.

Then someone that wasn't the government came in and tested to find they frickin' LIED. <- The EPA continued to lie and say the air is FINE. There is nothing right about that.

The reality: The EPA told them they could handle this, then the EPA didn't handle it. And now we know that some idiot like you two will pretend that this is a capable and useful Agency regardless of all evidence to the contrary. Not only that, but some idiots like you will suggest that it was caused by them somehow not having enough borrowed Chinese money to spend being useless and not cleaning anything.

Air in East Palestine IS toxic: Scientists release shock report showing 'higher than normal' concentrations of NINE potentially harmful chemicals - despite EPA ruling train derailment danger zone was 'safe'

The air in East Palestine contains 'higher than normal' concentrations of nine potentially harmful chemicals, scientists have suggested.

Experts from Texas A&M and Carnegie Mellon University have been conducting their own air quality tests using a mobile testing unit in East Palestine.

They said that if the chemicals persist at the current levels, it could cause long-term health issues for residents, the researchers warned.

The finding is in direct contrast to the US Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) ongoing assurance that the air quality in the area is safe.

While they said the findings are not necessarily an 'immediate health concern', they said repeated exposure over time could be damaging.

There are already warning signs among residents, including reports of altered voices and rashes that look like chemical burns.

Dr Albert Presto is an associate research professor of mechanical engineering at Carnegie Mellon’s Wilton E. Scott Institute for Energy Innovation who is part of the university’s chemical monitoring effort in East Palestine.

Potentially harmful does not equal toxic

I really feel for the people there. I can't imagine if all of a sudden, the place I lived became essentially uninhabitable.

Side note: our species doesn't seem to be able to handle the kind of civilization we're creating. We're not good w/ the "big" stuff, from technology to banking to industrialization. It wouldn't surprise me if the next revolution was geared toward a return to a more localized, agrarian kind of society.

Forcing others to clean up the environment is what the EPA does. They can fuck the environment up all they want, but if you do that, you get fined and go to prison.

No, the EPA said they could monitor the air and the impacts. Your paraphrase is hopelessly dishonest.

My point was, and has always been, they didn't get even that right and refuse to take responsibility for their failure at their job.

You are simply not helping your cause here. They are incompetent. They did not do what they said they would do, all they did was wash their hands and tell folks that the air was FINE. It was NOT FINE...

These people need to stop telling people they can help with something. They are incompetent idiots, and they do not do what they were created to do... (you know, protect the environment). They simply don't pay for spills they cause, they tell you stuff is fine when it isn't, they refuse to take any responsibility for their poor actions and total incompetence and the environment and citizens of the US suffer for their total inability to do anything right.

Then idiots like you say stupid things like this. Seriously. They got the answer WRONG... Even the simplest little bit, nothing they did was right. It's like you idiots and Buttigieg. No matter how often he fails to do his job you just keep saying he's the "awesomest"... He's also an incompetent boob... two government groups walking through the news cycle proving that government sucks at everything.

Nope. You are the one making this a partisan issue, not me. All you want to do is find a way to blame Biden. That's it. That's where your concern begins and ends.

Not once have I referred to Buttigieg as awesome. When you have to dishonestly put words in my mouth, you've lost the argument.

The EPA triggered the spill into the Animas river. Stop trying to apologize for this toxic "agency" that is supposed to protect the frikin' environment. Giving the Navajo Nation some money to treat water after they poisoned their water supply did NOT pay for the cleanup you idiot.

(I know I am again responding to an idiot who cannot absorb new information, I will regret this).

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/gold-k...PA-led contractor crew, the potential to do so.

In this story the Navajo Nation had to sue to get them to pay for that much, and they refused to pay the amount to clean it up after their team literally caused the spill.

Stop being such a stupid apologist. They would not pay, and refused to do so because the law did "not require" it. You have to stop pretending that your "leaders" are competent and kind. Government sucks even when democrats run it (in fact, especially so).

You're wasting time talking to Lousy Vermin, she's truly one of the most odious people you'll ever encounter.

Florida. So what? I was talking about East Palestine dumb fuck. Does where you live make you an expert on everything that happens in the state? What a fucking dumb post.

You were talking about the Animas River in Colorado, shit for brains!!

No, I wasn't. Fuck, you should just stop posting. You look like a complete idiot. Oh wait, you are one.

I was responding to THIS, you half wit moron:

"Much like in East Palestine when they recommend to burn a toxic chemical they need to do better for the people that live nearby."

Damo figured it out, but apparently you were too fucking stupid. Oh well. Carry on.

Ok, I was wrong about the Animas river, it wasn't you.
