Capitol Police chief blasts Tucker Carlson over ‘misleading’ Jan. 6 footage

After watching the first installment of Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s look at Capitol surveillance video from the Jan. 6, 2021, riot, U.S. Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger sent out a memo to his department Tuesday morning denouncing the show as “filled with offensive and misleading conclusions.”

The claim by Carlson that Capitol Police served as “tour guides” for Jacob Chansley, the horn-wearing “QAnon Shaman,” was “outrageous and false,” Manger wrote. He said that Capitol Police were badly outnumbered on Jan. 6, and that, “Those officers did their best to use de-escalation tactics to try to talk rioters into getting each other to leave the building.”

Why did the Jan 6 committee play the clip out of context and then obviously lie about its contents? Hawley as at the rear of a large group of congressmen trotting out of the building at the request of the Capitol Police. So, your claim he "ran for his life" is bullshit. They evacuated Pence for the same reason they evacuated congressmen: Out of an overabundance of caution.

So you don't think there was any violence and that police officers were assaulted? You don't believe that the rioters were trying to find and do harm to people like Pence and Pelosi?

There was some violence and police were assaulted. That's what happens in riots. I seriously doubt that 99% of the rioters would have done anything to Pence or Pelosi other than yell and scream at them. We, well you should, know that Q shaman man or whatever he's called, entered the Arizona capitol building much like he did the national capitol building less than 90 days before the Jan 6 riot, in mildly violent protest in Phoenix (broken windows etc). He was confronted by state legislators inside the building and after talking to them, was escorted out by DPS officers without being charged.

By simple make up of the committee, and it's procedural methods. Pelosi wouldn't seat the Republican's picks for the committee and instead, bucking over 150 years of solid tradition placed two Republicans--the two most Trump hating in Congress-- on the committee instead. There was no presentation of anything contrary to the unanimous consent of the committee, no cross examination of any of the evidence, plenty of cherry picking, selective use of evidence, and even outright lying by the committee all in the name of getting Trump.

There was right from the start no attempt to dispassionately review and give the public ALL of the available evidence. The committee clearly had a predetermined goal and were going to make their evidence fit the crime(s) they had already decided on.
