Columbia University to No Longer Require SAT/ACT for Undergrad Admissions

Wow. The bubble you live in Jarod. Standardized tests like the SAT/ACT have been used by colleges because research has shown they are a good indicator of how a student will perform when they arrive on campus. The argument against them in some corners is they are culturally biased/racist tests (and kids from well to do families have an advantage when taking them although the counter argument to that is they identify those who excel who come from disadvantaged backgrounds). Universities have been trying to increase black specifically but black and Hispanic enrollment at their schools. The argument is removing these tests will help them achieve that.

So this is very much driven by race.

Assumption upon assumption on your part.

Are you really that ignorant to all this? (looks that is a rhetorical statement)

Like I said, the bubble man...

But don't worry Jarod, none of this is actually real.

Where did you see Columbia mention race as the reason to end the SAT? Oh, you're too scared to debate.

Enrollments are declining in universities across the country. What do conservatives worry about? Too many Blacks might get into college.

Well, I can see some merit to Columbia's decision. After all, Columbia is a Liberal Arts university. That means the students don't have to have much in the way of math or science skills so half the SAT / ACT is meaningless for them. Given the multitude of spell checkers, grammar correction programs, and such available, they can be semi-literate too...
