That's politics in general - not just Alabama. That's why bills get so long and why many people support the line-item veto.

Indeed, the argument that gay marriage would harm society or harm children is baseless. There have been numerous studies that show children raised by gay parents are no different than children raised by straight parents.

The word "no" changes a sentence completely, and in this case made no sense to me whatsoever.
