What does that have to do with public transit and passenger rail?
According to you, it being profitable is the reason for all those mess.

Being profitable should be the goal of a transportation system, be it a taxi system, bus system, or other mass transit.

It's a damn shame this country does not have a high speed rail system?!! All those tax cuts for the rich, would have help build one and the rich and business paying their fair share of taxes too?!!

Nice graphic. How long does it take to fly that same route?
And yet we have total messes here.
That's because people with power are more concerned about retaining it and control than they are about cost effectiveness. Here in Phoenix they're building a light rail line down Central Avenue into South Phoenix at the moment. I can see where the city is going with this.
They've also gotten a $25 million dollar grant from Pete Buttplug to build a pedestrian bridge across the Salt River between two light industrial parks. If you look at what they're doing, they intend to force out all the industrial and commercial businesses in favor of high density urban housing and high end commercial businesses over the next 10 to 20 years. It's an evil cabal of government wanting results they want rather than letting the public and individuals decide the growth of the city. It will end badly in the long run, just as it has everywhere else it's been tried.
How so very shallow.....the goal is to improve our lives.
Lives aren't improved with mass transit. Individual transportation is true liberation.
Not sure what that has to do with this topic?
Who has been denying that?
It is government deciding on how you will live, where you will live, and what your choices for employment are.
The Left and radical Left.
Lives aren't improved with mass transit. Individual transportation is true liberation. You go where you want when you want at minimal cost. Mass transit stifles that.
So are you saying that it results in massive failures? I agree.
I don't understand what your problem is with this.
My problem is government keeps pushing this to the tune of billions of dollars a year.
And yet the other countries have been successful while America isn't.
I truly do not understand your problem with it.
Are you suggesting that the quality of life shouldn't be improved here in America because, according to you, it's not profitable?
Actually, America has been more successful than other countries. The quality of life in America would be improved with greater individual transportation choices rather than relying on taxation and public transit.

And yet the other countries have better quality of life.
You keep talking about the dependence on the transit systems. Why? In those other countries the people enjoy the freedom to drive anywhere.
