I think you are the one that needs to familiarize yourself. When is the last time you rode a train?

No TSA lines, no taking of your shoes and there is food to eat in dinning car and you can stretch your legs too?!! DA
One of the best, if not the best, is Changi airport in Singapore.
As America collapses we cant have nice things. I am noticing too a lot of chatter about how America has some of the worst airports in the world.

So, if you are someone on a timetable or doing business, time is money and the reduction is sufficient to make air travel the only alternative.
So they fly. So what?
Riding high speed trains can be a leisure. Also it's perfect for those who are afraid to fly.
It isn't worth building, or someone would have done it already.

We just made the automobile the king of transportation in this country, it was a big mistake in my opinion. And yet it was worth it in other countries.![]()

No, it was political in other countries. Not one of those high speed rail systems breaks even. Most require massive government subsidy to operate. US airlines operate at a profit.

Sighs.
We should have developed both.I'd say you are 100% wrong. That gave Americans massive amounts of freedom to move about the nation. It gives people the ability to live as much as 100+ miles from their employment. It gives people greater opportunity to do virtually everything. Being tied to public transit is to have a ball and chain attached to both legs.
Because I'm right, no doubt...

No you are not.
The other countries have been successful.
How many train wrecks and derailments have they had?
Either you are a troll or a genuine Luddite.
Name one nation where the passenger rail system is profitable.
