Right the definition of a mass shooting is nebulous.
Surprising to me is that most mass shootings used handguns rather than rifles. (158 v 63 between 1982 and 2023).

Poor anchovies. Please stop. The AR was very available and one day after the "ban on assault weapons" (of which there is no such thing) the manufacturers eliminated things like a bayonet lug and shipped conforming AR's.

The only sensible gun control is a complete prohibition on them, since "responsible gun owners" lose 300,000 guns every year.

Like it or not, right to private ownership of firearms is,

using "constitution" in its literal meaning--what something is made of--
a core part of our republic.
If you are willing to disband the republic, that's fine, but admit it and work toward it.
If you wish, for whatever reason, to keep America intact, stop whining about gun violence.

The reinstated parts had NOTHING to do with the actual operation of the firearm. Everything required was cosmetic and easily removed by the manufacturer. Perfect example, you have a wart on your nose. The government made you remove that wart. Can you still smell and breathe?
This a perfect example of the incompetence of the Federal government.
Lefties have got to stay out of gun conversations as 99% of them are totally ignorant of guns, laws, and statistics.

I'm a hard left, progressive, I served in the military, and I own nine firearms
[none of them quasi-military shit--those are for right wing assholes as we all know].
I suppose that putting a Berreta over/under or a Weatherby Mk. V in the hands of a reichnut is like putting a Ferrari in the hands of TDAK.
So it sounds to me like the only form of gun control that would actually work to save lives would be a total ban on guns.

What Constitutional Right? Prior to 2003, there was no constitutional right of individual gun ownership.
Well, since guns have nothing to do with life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, it's hard to see how banning them would destroy the Republic when they were used as tools in multiple attempts to destroy the Republic.
That “constitutional right” is debatable, but even with forgetting that argument, no Constitutional right is absolute, all them are, and pretty much have always been, regulated
And to resign oneself to viewing it “as baked in the cake” would be admitting the genocide is unpreventable, that the next Sandy Hook will be just another school shooting
