Top Jan. 6 investigator says FBI, other agencies could have done more to repel Capito

Rosen was acting attorney general in the lead up to J/6

Jeffrey Adam Rosen (born April 2, 1958) is an American lawyer who served as the acting United States attorney general from December 2020 to January 2021 and as the United States deputy attorney general from 2019 to 2020.[2] Before joining the Department of Justice, he was a senior partner at the law firm Kirkland & Ellis and was the United States deputy secretary of transportation.[2]

It doesn’t matter asshole

But you stated the committee was "bi partisan" (sic) in post 92. That would mean the Republican leadership and party would have had say on their members on the committee. So, how many members were chosen by the Republican leadership?

Trumps people were the ones tasked with protecting the capital

Wrong! The House in particular, and Senate are responsible for that because of separation of powers between branches of government!

The guy who was Department head of homeland security on and before J/6

It turns out it was an ILLEGAL APPOINTMENT

Chad Fredrick Wolf (born June 21, 1976)[1] is a former lobbyist and former American government official who was named the acting United States secretary of homeland security in November 2019. His appointment was ruled unlawful in November 2020. Wolf was also the under secretary of homeland security for strategy, policy, and plans from 2019 to 2021.[2]

This thread is about the facts that the trump team left us unprotected so Donnie’s madassholes could steal an election

It's irrelevant. twump and his cronies were the ones who spread election fraud propaganda and worked the violent scum into a lather over it - and they pointed them at the Capitol in an attempt to overthrow the government. These are facts. You don't want to hold twump and his clown car responsible - we get it. It's pretty transparent.

It is relevant. If the committee were a one-party witch hunt with no attempt at allowing cross-examination while cherry picking all the evidence presented, as the Jan 6 committee clearly did, it made the committee's findings irrelevant as it was indeed the witch hunt it appeared to by.

Dude. What happened, happened. Cross-examination by MAGA republicans would not have changed what twump and his cronies did. Republicans and twump loyalists were the ones testifying before the 1/6. You want cross-examinations by MAGAs like Gym Jordan and MTG because it might have confused and clouded the issue.

Top Jan. 6 investigator says FBI, other agencies could have done more to repel Capitol mob had they acted on intel

The House Jan. 6 committee concluded that the FBI and other federal security agencies could have prevented a violent mob from overrunning the Capitol had they acted on the large volume of intelligence collected beforehand, the chief investigator told NBC News in an exclusive interview — a judgment the committee left out of its televised hearings and final report.

Former federal prosecutor Tim Heaphy, the committee’s chief investigative counsel, said that while he endorses the panel’s main finding that then-President Donald Trump sparked the riot by urging protesters to go to the Capitol, his probe documented how federal law enforcement failures contributed to the debacle...............

Oh gee how did the J6 committee forget to mention this? And why did law enforcement like the FBI fail to act upon its intelligence? Probably because they wanted it to happen. That is the reason the provocateurs like Ray Epps, the megaphone guy, and others have never been arrested for their parts in inciting the crowds. Oh and who was ultimately responsible to make sure the Capitol was protected? Nancy Pelosi a person that was politically interested in making Trump and his supporters look bad. And somehow the J6 committee just forgot to report to the public on why law enforcement was caught flat footer on J6. Yes a few of Trump supporters were idiots but keep in mind tens of millions of Trump supporters voted for him and did not riot on J6.

It was trumps fault you shit bag

Trump appointed people who promised trump they would ignore the intel

And you are mad the J/6 commission didn’t make a bigger deal or of that part

Silly shit balls

The J6 did an excellent job of recounting what happened using Republicans as witnesses. MAGAs are pissed because they didn't get the chance to spew propaganda in order to confuse Americans.

It would have definitely changed the narrative, and it might well have uncovered some of the hidden fuck ups by those in Congress like Pelosi. Your last sentence says it all. If the persecution's case is so weak that Jordan or MTG could easily befuddle it, then it wasn't worth bringing to begin with.

I know. That's what you want to do. Change the narrative. Confuse the issue. We're in agreement. Even if Pelosi "fucked up" which I doubt, it would not have changed who incited the violence and who sat there for 3 hours watching it instead of stopping it. You want to blame anyone but the ones truly responsible.

But the fact remains they did overrun the Congress attempting to stop the peaceful transfer of power as directed by the Constitution, so don’t try to blame others for their actions

And if I am not mistaken that was Trump’s administration’s DOJ, Billy Barr’s venue

Agreed. The link even says Trump started the riot. That means Trump is responsible for all the deaths and injuries which happened during his riot.
