https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_Queer Would you suggest a classroom set of this in your children's school? As a parent you're more than welcome to buy this for your child but is it appropriate for the classroom?
I have no objection for “older teens”, they should be trusted with a huge variety of information to evaluate for themselves.
Would you buy a classroom set and donate it? For a classroom lesson?
No, not likely!

I don't see any "have to" in there. Methinks the OP is (like usual) using hyperbole to fit his own agenda. While some may choose to say they are "hiding" books to avoid prosecution, most simply remove them from the classroom to avoid prosecution. Also some hyperbolize and close down the entire library hurting children's education to make a political point, but it is not something they "have to" do, they are doing it because their political agenda is more important to them than the children's education.
Perhaps they should "hide" them in Brandon's garage.
Right because certain books should not be a part of the curriculum... or in a classroom for a teacher to hand out to a student so that they can get extra credit by reading it and writing a report and sharing it with the class...![]()

No one is going to tell me, my children, or grandchildren what they cant read!

I see you're still whining about Jarod's kid's teacher and her list of "book the government doesn't want you to read." As we already discussed, those are not grade-school level books; most of them we had as assigned reading in high school. Well, *we* did -- you had coloring books at yours.
The OP is about mini-classroom libraries in grade schools. How many teachers do you really believe are going to put "Gender Queer" or similar books in a grade school classroom? Silly twatmuffin.
