I've said it before and I'll say it again, the U3 that is trotted out here is a meaningless indicator of actual unemployment. MEANINGLESS. The employment rate on the other hand has remained nearly flat indicating that people have stopped looking for work rather than an increase in the number of people being employed.

We are practically on the cusp of a huge recession worldwide. Sane economic policy is not about throwing money at problems like Biden has been doing, as McMoonshi'ite is so fond of saying there will be a reckoning.
You are also incredibly fond of reminding us all that you predicted the last financial meltdown, as did I back in 2005, but strangely mute on the impending financial disaster. We shouldn't be at all surprised though as you've always proved to be incredibly partisan but you're a Californicator so totally oblivious to reality most of the time.

One of Putin's minions recently made the prediction that the center of world business would move from NYC to Moscow within three months... A reminder Russia is the country giving their troops tin helmets and airsoft ballistic vests. I cannot imagine anyone moving a business from NYC to Moscow.
NYC, San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle, etc. are not perfect, but they are by far the best in the world. Austin is not that bad, but you go a few miles outside of the city, and you are in Texas.
Tech is laying off, Walt. The cul-de-sac is being hit hard. Don't try to spin this with me. Wells Fargo recently was fined $1.7 billion for their crimes. That's B for billion. No one was prosecuted. The US economy is based on war and mass surveillance. Keep a close eye on the markets.

Some tech companies are laying people off, but tech still has a huge shortage of people, so that is not that bad. Everyone I know who quit or was laid off from Twitter has found a new job, paying more.
The stupidest thing Musk did was cut perks, and insult people. It created an environment where the best left and got better paying jobs elsewhere. He is left with some employees who are too desperate to quit, but they are the dregs of the company. He should take the $14 billion offer. It is a $30 billion loss, but most of the loss is in debt that sticks with the company. Twitter still has value, and he could still walk away with something... A year from now, probably not.
An investigation started by Obama, ended by trump, and started again by Biden. The problem with putting people in prison is that the investigation was dead for four years. Scharf rightly points out that he had nothing to do with Wells Fargo at the time of the crimes, and actually asked trump to restart the investigation.
The American economy is very consumer centric. An economy based on war would have more military production in its economy. You would just see soldiers and weapons everywhere. It is a totally different feel to everything.

I would say that most, including Obama and Biden for sure, would have talked a good game about expediting it and done not one fucking thing to actually see that happen. When it went South, they'd simply move on to the next trainwreck as if it never happened.
