Far right holding out on McCarthy!

You may be right that these radicals being Far-Right, but, perhaps we need to take a closer look!

Because there may be more dynamics to their makeup, that doesn't meet the eye at the moment.

This may well be a coalition of people that have just drawn their line in the sand, of Republican House Members who want their party to move on past Donald Trump and have the guts to say so, and do so!

Doing so and saying so are still two separate things!

It takes both to actually be able to move on!

Just a thought!

Marjory Taylor Green and Lauren Boepeart want to move beyond Trump?

A voice of reason!

. Partly but it’s much more than that.
Those that signed the “Dear Colleague “ letter are genuinely trying to change the rules a a severely corrupt system that has centralized decision-making power" that result in "massive, multi-subject bills that are unable to be amended or fully read, all driven by supposedly must-pass defense and appropriations measures"…

The Republicans could end this so easily by just walking out and lowering the threshold for Jeffries.

Gotta be the first time Republicans didn't take the easy way out.

The more rational that voted against Kevin were voting against a corrupt system, not so much against the person.
At least that’s how my vote would have been.
As an added Plus, it’s a big “fuck you “ to Trump. Not that should weigh into any vote but it’s lagniappe.

There might be one, maybe two rational people in that bunch. The majority of that group are election deniers. The biggest problem is McCarthy. He should be stepping down and doing what Boehner did, finding a candidate that everyone will vote for. But McCarthy cares about McCarthy. Nothing else.

You are not going to fix anything as long as the only interest is personal power. That's where we are. This ends when McCarthy steps down, or a candidate emerges that Democrats will support. And that will NOT be a sitting member of Congress. The Republican party is a complete clusterfuck. And they do not have good intentions. None of them do.

I really appreciate your comments!

I am not against changing Congressional House rules. As long as they have bi-partisan support! It would take a Congressional rule change that would prevents tack-ons in the first place, so let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater here! I mean we have a straw dog argument here!

Regarding the ad-dons, that always come in the darkest hours and corners of Congress, It was your Republican led House and Congress that enacted the Line Item Veto Act, that received bipartisan support. However, the United States Supreme Court ultimately held that the Line Item Veto Act was unconstitutional because it gave the President the power to rescind a portion of a bill as opposed to an entire bill, as he is authorized to do by article I, section 7 of the Constitution.

Nancy spoke up about this problem years ago. I know that Nancy was just stating the obvious when she said, "You have to vote for it, before you even know what is in it"!

Nancy was merely pointing out a serious problem affecting both parties. And she was not just joking about it!

When legislators speak up about the problems we have in Congress, they tend to be damned if they do and damned if they don't!

But, instead of listening to what Nancy was really trying to say, many Republicans used her quote as a Joke and a Poke at Democrats!

So what are we to do? Whatever it is, it is going to take Bi-partisan support and less Blind hatred for the other party!

Agreed it's a clusterfuck. I said this in '16 win it was obvious Trump would be the nominee. I think his actual election just delayed the damage he did to the party, or I should say the party did to itself, both actually.
None of them do.
It's good that you see that... centralized decision-making power that result in "massive, multi-subject bills that are unable to be amended or fully read, all driven by supposedly must-pass defense and appropriations measures"… is a problem. Most dems don't see that as a problem at all. Most dems with the exception of two principled ones in the senate never saw a spending bill they thought went too far or had too much unrelated pork.
That and dems' soft on crime, and now in some cities, actual support of violent criminal stances are what irks me the most about them .
The far right that many repubs have drifted toward is what continues to irk me about them . It used to be they were the War Party which is what pushed me to defect from them.
I'm politically homeless. :(

I think a few do. I'm somewhat satisfied with our two senators . Lisa Murkowski has good intentions. Dan Sullivan isn't a kook or nut.

No chance of that in today's world.
So what are we to do? Whatever it is, it is going to take Bi-partisan support!
Nothing we can do.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury."

This is where I see us now and moving at an exponentially faster speed.

" From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.” ― Alexander Fraser Tytler

We won't be around to see our total collapse.
Or maybe it happens faster than I thought possible. A world war might do it.

I like Chip Roy’s idea of giving representatives 72 hours to review a bill after it’s been brought to the floor.

I believe they have realized that Trump is now a burden!

Both of these two have aspirations of being the new TRUMP themselves. And the quicker they get him out of the way now- the closer they think they have a chance at it.

Basically, I believe those two are just jackasses of another feather that are trying to steal and take advantage of Trump's thunder- and his base!

Like I tried to say, there is more than just one dynamic that makes up this bunch of resistance!

We may have 20 different people going in 20 different directions, but yet still commonly realize and agree on one crucial point- until they get rid of Donnie- all of their political careers are in trouble!

And to their credit, this is something that the 201 others have yet to admit openly or even to themselves!

Thanks!

I am going with the philosophy, that the good intentions always win in the end.

Well until the Supreme Court got tilted too far in one direction.

But, I still look at a glass as half full instead of half empty!

And I also believe that sometimes we have to think out of the box!

This is why I am pushing really hard for some younger presidents and Legislators AND SCOTUS by setting term limits and selecting younger presidential candidates.

Term limits only diminish the peoples choice

I don’t like them

I believe in Democracy

The Republican Party and it’s lies and cheating are the thing fucking up the system

We need to replace that broken cog in the machine

Those were the days.

How could anyone refuse to sign onto that?

Even if Congress wrote a bill to end all last minute addons- before it reached the president's desk, some self-important self-interest asshole would even add a personal gimme' onto it!

The self interest assholes are lobbyists.

You should start your own thread on "globalism". Like why does twump have Chinese bank accounts he was trying to hide and what was Jarod doing taking secret trips to Saudi Arabia for?

We're talking in this thread about what a shit show your party has become.

did trump put tariffs on chinese imports? yes, sweety.

you all never actually have a point.

nerdberg, for all his unwarranted pomp and self righteous idiocy, cannot even emphatically agree congressional insider trading should be ended, for anti-fascism purposes.

he's a fascist.

You think Matt Gaetz and Lauren Boebert are going to solve that?

:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

They want attention. They are babies throwing a temper tantrum. The dumbest members of Congress are those 20. The Republicans are not being controlled by their hearts, or their minds. They are being controlled by their asshole. It's that simply.

they're trying.

maybe you could help, fuckface, instead of being wholeheartedly part of the problem.

:evilnod:
