Trump's a loser. The Republican party didn't control the party or him through the 2016 campaign and the nightmare of a presidential term that followed. I don't think he wanted to be Speaker, but at this point, they don't even know what to do. My best hope (for today) for the 2024 election is that the Republicans bomb as badly as I think they will and that Biden goes away.

They initially floated the idea of trump as Speaker when the supposed Red Wave was going to flip the House/Senate in a big way.

It was meant to fuck with Democrats, but things are very different now for sure.

It’s really interesting you are so excited by this. Yes, the Speaker is #3 to be President but #2 in the line of succession. Awesome. Kevin can brag about it, but the odds of him becoming President would be about the same as WWIII under Biden.
