Should Government tell parents...

The topic of this discussion is the event called A Drag Queen Christmas... a tour that goes around quite a few cities in the United States. That is the event being investigated in Florida as being inappropriate for children.. I think if you look at the video clips and the content you would agree..

Whatever it is, there is probably more to it than meets the eye.

Whatever it is, I do not approve of it, and I had nothing to do with it.

If it's your town- take it up with your town! Leave me out of it please!

Is it illegal? One persons sexually explicit is not another’s. My Aunt use to think showing cleavage was sexually explicit. Elvis was thought to be too sexually explicit. If the act is legal, it should be up to the parent. There are rock concerts that some feel children should not attend because of the lyrics and performances, but others bring their children.

Hip-hop music is especially notorious for lyrics that I wouldn't have wanted my kids to hear when they were young. But I don't want the government saying that no one should be allowed to listen to it just because *I* don't like it.

how about alternative takes on the vaccine?

Reichwingers, fake Christians (and fake teachers), and other self-appointed "good people" think that we need to use the power of government to enforce what they think is "morality." Apparently the laws we have against child abuse, molestation, indecent exposure, etc. are not good enough. Got to keep those prisons well-stocked, you know.
I wouldn’t take my grandsons because it’s an adult performance, they’d be bored in between the big fake boobs in a box and wouldn’t understand the rest of the sexual innuendos. My granddaughters would giggle and be embarrassed because they are teenagers. My point is, like yours, I’m not the morality police and the shows break no laws. I’ve seen stuff similar at music concerts, skimpy outfits fits, gyrations, twerking and dirty dancing imitating sex. Christian groups tried to go after the music industry, also, with little success. Music and movies carry rating now, they are suggestions for parents, and not enforceable by law.

And the world was a lot better off back then

Only dumbasses without a future like the past.

Dude, it's in the best interests of our nation, and your grandchildren, to maximize the potential of all Americans. Why do you oppose the idea?

MEOOWWW! Interesting.

Some people don't like Confederate statues...they were removed because of that

The example that TRUTH DEFLECTOR sent me in a response was what I described!

I have no idea what you are referring to!
I'm referring to what we're discussing in the OP...I've mentioned it more than once....Perhaps we can catch up later...there are a number of video clips and excerpts here from A Drag Queen Christmas...If you need me to repost, I will, though...;)

And that's exactly how it should be. Funny how the Reichwingers think that parents should have say over what is taught in public schools -- like "intelligent design" for instance. But then they're all about using the govt. to enforce censorship when the latest Poutrage du Jour is fed to them by their media masters. FL is intent on using government to dictate what teachers may teach, and I don't mean subjects like math and science either. They want to censor history, they want to censor modern culture.

This wasn't at a public school anyways.

drag shows are not performing arts. fine for gay bars, not for public consumption.
Especially the one being discussed...as you can see, not a single person here would take the kids or the grandkids to this one...for good reason...;)

Drag shows are, by definition, performing art, regardless of your opinions.

We’re mostly Boomers, you may get a totally different reaction on TikTok from a generation that wasn’t raised with guilt about sex and nudity.

The show does break laws....when it involvesand there is video evidence... the children sitting in the front rows into the "performance"...the parents are sitting in other locations, if you pay attention.... There are numerous "harmful to minor" laws...
