Tesla Model 3 named winner in KBB’s 5-Year Cost to Own Awards 2022. MAGA wets panties

They did not draft policies to force people to buy EVs. They made it financially a better deal. The tax on pollutionmobiles is 25 percent. There are people concerned about the environment. Nobody will be selling polluters in 2035. The market does not care about the environment, but to suggest people are not buying EVs because they like them is dishonest. Plenty of people buy EVs for better looks and more fun to drive. They also care about pollution. Those are good reasons to buy one,. They are the reason I did and my son did.

That's nothing but hair splitting. They drafted policies that made it so economically unviable to buy the alternative that people bought EV's. If like Norway and California have done and made laws ending all ICE vehicle sales by some date, it is forcing people into EV's. Few people are so concerned about the fucking environment that they will go out and willingly spend tens of thousands of dollars extra on something because it supposedly--MAYBE--helps the environment in some insignificant way.

Most people also don't care about pollution so long as it isn't so bad that it immediately affects them. Look at San Francisco. They put up with their city turned into an open sewer and aren't doing shit (pun intended) about it.

Question: How are EV's "more fun to drive?"

Tesla Model 3 named as one of the winners in KBB’s 5-Year Cost to Own Awards for 2022

The Tesla Model 3 was recently deemed by Kelley Blue Book as one of the winners in its 5-Year Cost to Own Awards for 2022. KBB’s 5-Year Cost to Own Award explores the costs associated with the ownership of a vehicle. This includes the vehicle’s price, maintenance costs, fuel or charging rates, any state tax, and registration fees, as well as a car’s depreciation over a 5-year ownership period, among others.

As per the automotive research company, the 2022 Tesla Model 3 leads the “Electric Luxury Vehicle” segment with a 5-year cost to own of $48,233. According to Kelley Blue Book, the Model 3’s 5-year cost to own is $16,411 less than the segment average. This is quite impressive, especially considering that the Model 3 is Tesla’s entry-level vehicle today.

The fact that the Model 3 was dubbed by KBB as one of the winners in its 2022 5-Year Cost to Own Awards is quite unsurprising, especially if one were to consider that electric vehicles like Teslas do not need as much maintenance as their internal combustion engine-powered counterparts. And being part of Tesla’s ecosystem, the Model 3 enjoys a number of perks that some of its rivals in the “Electric Luxury Vehicle” segment do not enjoy as well, such as Supercharging rates, which are extremely convenient and affordable

Chicago Charging Deserts Highlight The Racial Divide Of EVs

There are 77 different neighborhoods or “community areas” in the city of Chicago, with millions of people — and cars! — making their way to and through these areas every day. 77 communities, yet as of 2018, nearly 70% of all publicly available electric vehicle charging stations were located in just three, predominantly white, affluent neighborhoods. Of the 74 communities and neighborhoods splitting the remaining 30%, meanwhile, 47 predominantly BIPOC communities (Black, Indigenous, or People of Color) had no public EV charging available at all.

I hear that multiple manufacturers are on the cusp of building cars better than Tesla and Cheaper than Tesla.

Tesla has never figured out manufacturing.

Well, if you put something packed full of copper that sells as scrap for $2 a pound in a poor, crime-ridden, neighborhood don't be surprised when it ends up looted for the scrap metal value it contains...

The same thing goes for grocery stores, drug stores, and anything else. The companies and people owning them don't build or put their stores in crime ridden areas full of people that can't afford to shop there.

I asked for proof that Musk is a racist. Still waiting, VolsSuck

What more does his company have to do,,,lynch 2 black workers before u believe it?

I really didn't buy my Tesla Model Y LRDM for the environment. I bought it for the less maintenance, the instant torque and the simplicity of charging in your garage for much less than gas. And I don't know what T.A. Garbler is talking about governments FORCING people to buy EVs or tracking their every move. When they have to use stale right wing talking points in their argument, you know they've lost.

Well, your comment that nobody would buy EVs without the govt incentives is bullshit. They buy EVs because they're easier and cheaper to maintain, cheaper to drive, charge in your garage, better performance, instant torque. That's why car manufacturers are spitting then out like rabbits. Why does that bother you so much that you have to lie about their popularity.
Gas cars are soooo VHS. Do you still use VHSs?

Yep. Mine has a twin weber engine off a Cortina rally car replacing the original. Handles like it's on rails. Super easy to work on if you know where to get the parts--that's the hard part of that--but I do know so it's not a big issue.

If you don't put your foot in it, it gets insane gas mileage.
Light slippery and small engine.

Can the EV market thrive without subsidies?
Government support should tail off once sales hit a critical volume. For now, discounts remain pivotal to growth

Electric vehicles won’t save the planet and won’t survive without subsidies

Bottom line: Virtually everybody agrees that EV's stand no chance in the marketplace without continued massive government subsidies and regulation that penalizes their competition. Without both, EV's would remain a tiny niche market in the auto industry.

VHS was replaced by the much better and cheaper to manufacture DVD. That in turn is being replaced by the even cheaper download. EV's aren't cheaper to buy, cheaper to maintain, present charging issues and problems that really cannot be resolved, and have no significant improvement in performance over an ICE vehicle. Car manufacturers are turning them out because government demands they do so, and for no other reason.
