Agreed. The curiosity for me is always "why?"

Most here are only venting; they have no life, are in constant pain and scared about the approaching darkness in their lives.

The fight or flight syndrome is common to most animals. American males are taught to fight with "flight" seen as cowardice. It's hard to fight death, old age or being stuck alone in a trailer or a shitty retirement home so they "fight" on JPP by acting like abusive assholes, challenging others to fist fights or duels. Yes, it's irrational, but their options are limited.

This isn't all idle curiosity for me. It's lessons in what works and what doesn't for personal future planning.

I actually wrote an email to the director of nursing after I spent 8 days in the hospital on IV opiates for numerous fractured ribs, along with a shoulder separation.

Knowing that nurses never get the accolades they deserve, I named everyone who cared for me. It happened to be during nurse's week, so it was a big deal.

I had one male nurse working the overnight who was terrible.

Sailor and I go way back to several other boards. Although we disagree, we have remained civil lately. I just don't waste keystrokes on everything he posts, as most of it is nonsense.

I believe they are the same person. He gets borderline abusive sometimes, but that could be part of the ploy.

I don't bother to interact much with him anymore, even as his sock.

Well...returning to light duty (painting) 29 days after the incident wasn't wise, but I had little choice. Customer said that they'd wait, but I wasn't going to take the chance that they'd find someone else. It took me years to get into that community.

My ribs kept re fracturing, which was painful. After I finished that job, I got on my recliner and didn't move for more than a month. Ribs take 6 weeks to begin to calcify, 6 months to fully heal.

I had surgery to fix the shoulder in June, and was back to work by fall. It was a rough year. Thankfully, I had the money to skate, and my customers knew that they'd have to wait for me.

Thanks to Obamacare, my max out of pocket was under $7000. Hospital bill alone without the shoulder surgery was about $150k.

To honor your longer experience, I'll just ignore him henceforth and hope that he's not really Sailor, who is an asshole but also a decent human.
