Republicans need to be constantly reminded that they supported, defended, and worshiped George Dumbya, the Hillbilly from Wasilla, and Trump because these days a lot of conservatives are trying to tip toe away from their erstwhile heros and pretending like they never rabidly supported them.

I was highly offended when the Senior Senator from Massachusetts, a broad that I love in spite of her heartland roots,

pronounced the title of her mother's sister as "ant."

It's like how the idiot locals in Vegas want me to pronounce Nevada--first "a" pronounced differently from the second.

but I guess not. Teddy, her predecessor, would never have said "ant" unless he was speaking of an insect. I could understand him when he spoke.

I lived my whole life in the Midwest, where white people pronounce Mom's sister's title as "ant." Black people and people for whom English is a second language pronounce it "aunt." It is also "aunt" here among the indigenous folks.

I don't disagree. Back then, those things weren't 'liberal'. They were common sense.

It was also widely accepted that compromise was the only way to get things done, as the Founders demanded when they crafted the govt..

Then Gingrich decided that monkeys flinging shit was the only way to get control of the House.

Well, Liz doesn't pronounce it like Teddy did, but I really like her anyway.
It just sounds a tad grating from a Massachusetts senator, that's all.
The lady [I didn't say broad this time!] is just a few elocution lessons from being perfect, but at her age, I guess she gets a pass.

I believe she's from the Midwest, right? Oklahoma? Ask Leaningright, but I think he probably pronounces it "ant" as well.

I always had the impression that Midwesterners thought that pronouncing it "aunt" made you sound stuck-up and maybe a Brit sympathizer. ;)
