Anderson Lee Aldridge: What we know about Colorado Springs LGBT nightclub shooter

I am not getting into yet another, pointless discussion - especially if you are a closed-minded, gun bunny (not saying you are) - about guns.

I think legal gun owners should be able to conceal and buy any handheld gun they want - including semi-auto rifles.
If more people carried CONCEALED (especially teachers)... there would be FAR, less mass shootings.

BUT I don't think ANYONE who has not served in either the fulltime or reserve military, should be able to own a gun.
That is my interpretation of the 2'nd Amendment.
And you know what?
It's right.

And if you (or anyone else) don't agree?
I really, do not much care.

We are done here.

Good day.

Charming.

Good day.

Not quite.
I did not serve in the military. I was a NRA certified firearms instructor for over 20 years. I competed in service rifle class for 10 years. So, I shouldn't be able to own a gun?

The more guns we have the more mass shootings and general shootings we have. It is really that simple. Take away the damn gi\uns. Other nations corrected that problem. We just keep making it worse.

You do understand trying to take away our guns would be a monumental mistake.

It sure looks like both his family and the authorities knew that this guy was very dangerous....but no one lifted a figure to keep us safe.

So you are closed minded. You are describing yourself.

Quite probably true.

No, you don't get to change the Constitution. You are not interpreting the 2nd amendment. You are discarding it.

The 2nd amendment discusses the right of self defense. The self defense of a person using ANY weapon, and the self defense of a State, using a militia.

2nd Amendment said:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

A well regulated militia is formed by a State to defend the State.
The people are not the militia. The people are not the State. The people are individuals. They have the right to keep and bear Arms. That means 'weapon'. ANY KIND OF WEAPON.

Neither the right of a free State to form a militia to defend itself nor the right of an individual to acquire weapons to defend himself and his interests shall be infringed in any way.

These rights do not come from the Constitution or any other piece of paper. These rights are inherent. Even animals have the right to defend themselves to the best of their ability. NOTHING you can do can take that away or change it.

Not that simple. You are being very simplistic.

There are more guns than people in the States, and millions of gun owners. Only ONE of them shot up a night club recently.
No, you don't get to blame millions of gun owners for a crime committed by a single person.

You can't take away the guns, no matter how hoplophobic you are.
