Do you believe in free speech?

well they thought they did.

apparently teachers feel they must try to groom children sexually.

i agree new laws were not necessary, because pedophilic grooming is already illegal, but apparently teachers needed an extra underlining of these basic decencies.

next they will be arrested for indecency with minors.

The Florida law had nothing to do with grooming children or pedophilia. It was about teaching racial topics that might "offend" some students. It also prohibits businesses from holding some types of diversity or inclusion training. So much for government telling private business what it can do.

At least the Florida courts believe in free speech even if the governor and legislature do not.

There are limitations to the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment.

The Supreme Court will decide this one.

The 1st amendment of the Constitution of the United States does not apply to the States. The judge (Mark Walker of the U.S. District Court) does not have authority to change the Constitution.

The Supreme Court has no authority to change the Constitution either. There is nothing to decide. The 1st amendment does not apply to the States.

DeSantis has all the authority he needs to decide curriculum in State schools, and all the authority he needs to restrict racial and bigoted practices in Florida businesses. Employees of such businesses have all the authority they need to also bring civil suit against said businesses.

No, it was not about teaching racial topics.

I agree and I believe the Supreme Court will not take the case. They will decide the issue by not ruling on the issue. DeSantis, as governor, does have the final say on curriculum in his state and it does not involve free speech.

We shall see.

The governors have no authority to suppress free speech.

1. Rhonda Santis is a vile, devolved mutant and not a single "person" who voted for him deserves to share in this planet's oxygen supply.

2. Nothing worth anything in this world, including speech, is ever free.

I'm sorry to quote myself, but the bump is obviously warranted.

We are talking about two separate bills. The "Don't say Gay" is about sexual orientation.

The "Anti-Woke" bill is about racial topics.

You got nothing except you support a candidate who wants to prevent free speech.

You and I both know that's bullshit. Brandon had a ministry of truth. I guess the bane was a little to commie even for you people. You leftists are brain damaged
