Federal judge declares Biden's student debt relief plan unconstitutional

Nothing new in my book. Been going on forever. So many of these absolute clowns have tried to submit bills to the floor that they already know before hand will be defeated soundly in an attempt to throw red meat to their idiot followers. " See,....see what I tried my best to do for you,.....if only for those nasty R's I would have succeeded too!" And the dumb asses believe it. No different then Biden and student loan forgiveness. He KNEW it would never fly,...KNEW IT,....did it anyway just to get votes from IDIOTS only to have the idiots end up empty handed as soon as the left got their votes.

Indeed.

Many of these students were going to use their loan forgiveness to take trips and eat at expensive restaurants.

It appears that they will now have to pay for it themselves.

All spending by the federal government has to originate in a bill written by the House. It is fine, and constitutional, if Congress wants to have a spending program to finance student loans. But those loans are exactly that, and it is obvious that Congress intended they be paid back.
Joke cannot unilaterally decide by executive order to forgive any amount of that debt. He needs legislation from Congress authorizing that spending to be forgiven. Without it, what he's doing is illegal. It isn't difficult to understand.

I'm not sure that all spending must originate in the House but those "raising revenue" (new taxes).

All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.

I don't favor the student loan forgiveness. I didn't think Trump had the power to temporarily suspend payments or add $400 per week to unemployment benefits.

This is false.
No, members of Congress do not get free medical care for life, or even ***while serving in office.***

Pobre
“Ted Cruz gets his health care paid for by the government.”

A lie.

Poor Pobre.

As the myth busting website Snopes points out, “contrary to popular belief, Congressional members do not receive free health care.” Instead, they choose a gold-level Obamacare policy and receive federal subsidies that cover 72 percent of the cost of the premiums.

I don't get government subsidies to pay for 72% of my premiums. I don't get any government subsidy for my health care.
Poor Earl, the English language is so hard. Paid for by the government is not the same thing as free.

What kind of healthcare do you have?

A federal judge in Texas on Thursday ruled that President Joe Biden's plan to cancel hundreds of billions of dollars in student loan debt was unconstitutional and must be vacated, delivering a victory to conservative opponents of the program.

U.S. District Judge Mark Pittman, an appointee of former Republican President Donald Trump in Fort Worth, ruled in a lawsuit backed by the Job Creators Network Foundation on behalf of two borrowers.

The debt relief plan had already been temporarily blocked by a federal appeals court.

Good. Communism isn't authorized by the Constitution.

A lie, Pobre.

Ted pays for part of it.

Yes, I agree, you have a problem with English, Pobre.

If you are arguing that it's a lie to say the government pays for it when they only pay for part of it then I guess it's a lie to say that Ted Cruz pays for his health care since he only pays for part of it.
If Ted Cruz doesn't pay for his health care and the government doesn't pay for his health care then who pays his insurance premium?

Well, Pobre, you posted that “Ted Cruz gets his health care paid for by the government.”

To most people with a grasp of English, that means that Ted doesn’t pay for his health care.

Do you see your lie or are you going to continue to shuck and jive, Pobre?

Actually, they go on the Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) program like other federal employees do.

https://crsreports.congress.gov/pro...provides more than $40 billion in health care

So, they don't have to use crappy Obamacare at all.

WTF does that have to do with student loan forgiveness? That judge is correct. Pay your damn bills. You racked them up.

Actually, members of Congress pay the same rate for their chosen plan on FEHB that federal civil service employees do.

It seems you are stuck in a hole and can't get out. Who does pay for Ted Cruz's insurance premiums?
