A federal judge in Texas on Thursday ruled that President Joe Biden's plan to cancel hundreds of billions of dollars in student loan debt was unconstitutional and must be vacated, delivering a victory to conservative opponents of the program.

U.S. District Judge Mark Pittman, an appointee of former Republican President Donald Trump in Fort Worth, ruled in a lawsuit backed by the Job Creators Network Foundation on behalf of two borrowers.

The debt relief plan had already been temporarily blocked by a federal appeals court.

The student loan program was set up by congress and only they can modify it. And i hope they don't do that. These students have the money but they smell a bailout.
 
there are no surprises.....well except for Biden's surprise when they told him it hadn't REALLY been passed by Congress by bipartisan vote.....
 
Biden did this before the elections knowing it was illegal.

Hey stupid. The whole student loan program is unconstitutional. Setting up such a program is NOT one of the listed powers of congress.

All spending by the federal government has to originate in a bill written by the House. It is fine, and constitutional, if Congress wants to have a spending program to finance student loans. But those loans are exactly that, and it is obvious that Congress intended they be paid back.
Joke cannot unilaterally decide by executive order to forgive any amount of that debt. He needs legislation from Congress authorizing that spending to be forgiven. Without it, what he's doing is illegal. It isn't difficult to understand.

We will report back when a higher court deems that pathetic student loan forgiveness bullshit unconstitutional. Pay back what you borrowed like everyone else.
