What is this like the third post on the same thing? and this time he has to use an opinion piece from a local newspaper

State picked up the problem and are putting the ballots aside, it is a fraction of the total num we they have received

They are started early. Mail in ballots are suppose to have dates on the envelopes but apparently some number of them don't which would render them invalid. Well they want to "fix" the problem. The suggestion I love the most is if you think your mail in ballot might be invalidated for no date just show up at your local polling place to request a "provisional" ballot. Vote early vote often!

Excuses so early :palm:

they seem to be determined to supplant LA, NY and IL as voter fraud champions of the US !

Alright, show us where NY practices voter fraud

If anywhere, it would be Florida and Texas, that is where the most cases for voter fraud have been prosecuted, those Villages love their multiple voting

If the ballot is received at the county board of elections by election day, why does it matter if the date isn't written on the envelope?

You can't disenfranchise voters for such a petty issue.

I have also heard that there has been a massive turnout in cemetery voting in Pennsylvania. ALL Democrat btw. Makes perfect sense actually considering you would have to be either brain dead or a total Zombie to vote for a democrat in the first place. ;)

Yeah - but you call people liars, when they haven't lied.

I've heard the same thing. Cemetary voting. People are just dying to do it! I guess they're so excited to do it, they're just breathless.

I'd actually like to try it, but I'm not sure when to dearly depart.

Nothing quite like getting to vote as many times as you like!

Repugs have as much right to mail ballots as Dems, and some of those without dates can be from repugs.

I guess cons don't care that their own will also be disenfranchised by this stupid rule.

And it they are repubs who didn't out a date screw them the vote isnt counted. You don't get a do over. If you go to the polls.on election day and screw up your ballot you dont get a do over.

That has already been decided in court and according to the law you can correct your ballot if you change your mind or made a mistake. The problem for the GOP is they failed to understand that the law also says that the local authority can inform voters if their ballot has a problem but is not required to do so. The local authorities that are majority GOP are not informing their voters of problems. So this may end up hurting the GOP more than it helps them.

This is being appealed to the federal courts as a violation of the Civil Rights Act which says you can't disenfranchise voters for a minor infraction that has no bearing on the vote arriving in time.

Where I vote, if I screw up my ballot and mark two candidates in one election, the machine will inform of that error and reject the ballot allowing me to turn it in as a spoiled ballot and get a new one. You are wrong on that "fact" as well.

The dating has nothing to do with anything. If the board of elections already has the ballot, it was mailed on time. If it's postmarked by election day, it was mailed on time.

Geez, I didn't hear that and I live in PA. Is that one of those GOP best-kept secrets?

Box the invalid ballots, never to be counted. A great case for eliminating early voting.
