Budapest is a beautiful city. I’d live there before most American cities.

In the Andean nations of South America the grinding poverty and wealth inequality you typically find in most conservative nations would wear me down.

Democracy also seems to have a tenuous grip at best in South American countries. They have a long and sordid history of rightwing dictators.

Russia was authoritarian long before the Ukrainian conflict, though I can see authoritarianism being a draw for MAGA.

I like democracy too much to tolerate Singapore, which like Thailand borders on an authoritarian police state.

It's easy to type on a keyboard that Hungary is beautiful, but the conservatives I have seen talking about being ex pats always mention Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Costa Rica, or in your case Portugal

I am going to cut slack to people who don't have a long history of complaining about Mexico or belittling the country.

I know an American who lives in Tijuana and telecommutes to work in San Diego. That makes sense because San Diego is so bloody expensive
