Yes, it is, and they do the best job they can. But why hire (what 87,000?) IRS agents rather than 87,000 border control agents, when the border patrols say we're being overrun by illegals and they are so short handed?

Biden ended Trump's "remain in Mexico" policy which required immigrants seeking asylum to do so from Mexico.

The result...3 million more illegals in the US since Biden took office.

I'd go along with that, as long as it's the person that hired them, not necessarily the company, although the company should be fined. My reason being, the company heads don't often know who is hired for the lower end jobs.

Start arresting those that are responsible for hiring and I guarantee you they will know who is being hired. Looking the other way isn't a good enough excuse.

They'll need the tools for doing it. Beef-up E-verify so renters and business owners have easy, quick access to who is legal to be in the US and who isn't.

If they are continuing to do their same job then there is no "open border" unless we have had one for many years. They are doing the same job they did before and obviously catching more illegals since apprehensions are up.

The 87,000 are IRS employees, not "agents." From what I understand most of these will be to fill the positions of retiring employees (although that seems like it would be a continuing activity).

That policy was pandemic related and did not apply to Mexicans. According to INS (see website) to apply for asylum they must be in the United States (no matter how they got here).

Most of those illegals are denied asylum and returned.
