CA moves to ban natural gas heaters

Natural gas is one of the cleanest fuel on the planet. It also leaks out of the ground faster if you don't drill and extract it, and a much worse greenhouse gas than the CO2 emitted when it is burned. This is an uber-dumb decision and not based on science at all.

CA seems to have a pattern of making dumb decisions which is why they are losing companies and residents every day.

It is worse than that, they also try to force the rest of the country to do what they do, for instance when they make food sourcing laws that are very difficult for national companies to comply with without doing it for the whole country. However that trick works less well as California increasingly becomes third world, with exploding levels of poverty.

First off, California is one of the leading Blue States paying Red States to balance their budgets, and without California, with it’s GDP, and a few other Blue States, what is left of the US would resemble Albania

Actually, Arizona is running a surplus, and federal money almost entirely goes to federal stuff like defense and interstate highways, and the like. California buys lots of electricity from Arizona because the retards in Cali can't make enough there due to greentard policies.

California is more and more, looking like a Turd World country. That is, enclaves of uber-rich, supported by a small middle class of business owners, and a huge population of marginally employable peasants and proles.

For example, if you have a gas stove and are forced to replace it with an electric unit, the install will cost you about $6 a foot for the SE cable, around $30 for the hardware, another $100+ for other materials, and if you have a 100 amp or less service on the house with no slots available, about $5,000 to get a new service, and labor for all this will run in the neighborhood of $500 to $2000.

I'd estimate the average cost of installing a 50 amp 240 VAC 1 phase circuit for a stove at about $2000. For somebody who's already living paycheck to paycheck that's a big hit in their budget as it represents about $100 a month on a 24 month payment plan.

Poor anchovies,
CA might donwill the fund their own promised pension funds. Right now they only have 72¢ for every dollar owed leaving them something like $200 billion in the hole and growing worse every day.

Exactly, most of them come from gated communities in Florida and have never even been to California, or just about anywhere for that matter, but they have a hard on for California

There’s a reason people talk about California so much and it’s because of the adage, as California goes so goes the nation. If what happened here occurred in a vacuum then I would agree, why talk so much about us. But what happens here often moves to the rest of the country. So those in other states untimely are affected (whether positive or negative) by our actions whether it’s real estate costs or new environmental laws.

Eh, we actually went through a few years when we were takers from the federal government. We have the most wealth in the country, this is true. We also have the highest poverty rate and massive inequality and a shrinking middle class. Not exactly a sustainable model across the country.

They have a surplus now but that won't last very long.

Another reason to keep the fruits and nuts in CA.

California moves to ban natural gas furnaces and heaters by 2030

California is committing to a plan that will make it the first U.S. state to phase out gas-fueled furnaces and water heaters in homes, a move environmentalists are betting will provide a template for other states.

The Golden State will ban the sale of all new natural gas-fired space heaters and water-heating appliances by 2030, under a proposal unanimously approved by the California Air Resources Board on Thursday.
They had better improve the reliability of their electrical grid.

We have a very high income tax and capital gains rate. So when the economy, but especially the stock market, does well we are flush with cash. When it doesn’t do well we have massive deficits. (We have a massive surplus now but are already projected huge deficits the next year or two.). It’s not a consistent model.

Ooooh, watch out! Internet Tough Guy on the thread!

As you well know. LOL

There are those who love to be Macho Men threatening others with violence and then there are those who have fun throwing spitballs at them. :)
