This storm called Ian

I drink very little orange juice as I am diabetic and this almost never makes my carbs list, but I am a big fan of grapefruit juice and gin. I will be paying close attention to the grapefruit crop damage assessments. About 50% of the us crop is grown in Florida, and the citrus growing region is right in Ians path.

Again you speak of nothing you know of

September 10 marks the peak of the 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season. While there are two named storms in the Atlantic right as of Monday, it has been a relatively quiet season so far.

"Normally at this point of the year, we would have six named storms, two hurricanes and one major hurricane, so having 3-0-0, so we're a little bit behind," said Matthew Rosencrans, NOAA Lead Hurricane Season Outlook Forecaster.

According to Dr. Phil Klotzbach- senior research scientist at Colorado State University- this was the third August since 1950 that there have been no named storms in the Atlantic for the month of August.

because he's anti-globalist.

have I not made that clear?

globalist zealotry is just internationalist fascism.

Maybe when you sober up you can explain to us how a "businessman" with properties, lenders, and investments around the world is an "anti-globalist." As if. :rofl2:

This is a rare opportunity for Desantis to really set himself apart from Trump, and he might be able to do it as he seems to have a high quality team.

Agreed. Let's hope Florida is better prepared for Ian than Putn was for invading Ukraine. LOL

Grok is a pig, along with being the dumbest fuck on the internet.

It's started to rain here already, and we are still two days away from the center of the storm. Unfortunately, it appears that it is going to pass Jax on the Atlantic side meaning we will probably get a storm surge yet again.

I'm so glad to see you posting and happy that so far you guys are doing okay. Stay safe.

Not treating Florida fairly would be a bad move for the Revolution right before an election.

They are however so full of hate that they might.

It's true. The Reichwingers here on this forum -- even ones who LIVE in the path of the storm -- are busy minimizing and blaming the media for the "hype." If anyone is injured or killed, it's their fault... said by one of your fellow Gossip Sisters even.

So far we're just getting the early effects, but they've been with us all day. It's raining, but not hard yet, and it's windy, but not as bad as it will get. Hopefully the power stays on, the rain doesn't flood the streets and the storm surge isn't too bad. Fingers crossed.

Well be keeping you and yours in my thoughts tonight and tomorrow. Please check in if you can and feel like it.

Storm surge is almost always associated with the ocean-land interface, and Ian is well over land now.....do you know what you are talking about?

Unless, of course, it's someone on your side of the divide doing it. Tsk.

Notice how he quickly covered for Trump and, therefore, supports those fighting to "Stop the Steal". He's like the typical dummie/patsy recruited and groomed by the Islamic terrorists to be a suicide bomber.

Groomie is a process and Fredo has all the emotional prerequisites of hating Jews, blacks and The Man/the Establishment/Globalists, whatever the current excuse is to commit violence against innocent kids in a Daycare center.

A more sophisticated way is something innocent, like "Fredo, please drop off this package" (the grooming is having him regularly deliver parcels) or "Fredo, drop off this car." Once trained, he'll stop asking questions and just do it to please his heroes.

Storm surge information is very hard to come by though Desantis said on Tucker that it is significant. We are not expecting solid reports till about mid day tomorrow, after a good look-see.

Storm surge is a function of wind bunching water up. The eye can be over land and still be causing a storm surge due to the large extent of its storm bands behind it continuing to blow water in.

I have two sisters in the Orlando area. So far just winds and rain, and likely flooding in the near future. One is on the ride out crew at one of the largest resort hotels in Orlando. They've got some leaks, and the National Guard has parked in their parking structure and taken up residence in the lobby for response locally. I used to live in Tampa (Lutz to be exact), and my son grew up there - our friends still in the area say there's a lot of flooding and lots of wind damage locally.

My grandmother used to live in Fort Myers so I know that area quite well. Very sad to see it so directly hit. Sanibel is likely wiped off the map, and the area my grandmother used to live in appears to be fully under water. I hope the Ford-Edison Winter Estates weather the storm. They're a great place to visit and a great museum, but they're right along the river.

The experts say that the storm will stay strong enough that it will cause storm surge worth worrying about on the Atlantic coast.

I am skeptical.
