Putin is buying rockets from North Korea

Especially so when you can be disappeared for speaking out.

Takes some courage for sure.

I haven't seen any video or reports of Russian dissidents sobbing in court or groveling before the judge for mercy, like the J6 MAGA protesters did.

My theory is that when one has truth and moral certainty on their side, one tends to have more fortitude and belief about the justice of their cause in the face of arrest and prosecution.

If you want to understand Russia today, read this book.

'The Road to Unfreedom: Russia, Europe, America' Timothy Snyder

It seems to be an interesting, albeit controversial, snapshot of the situation in Russia. Considering European history as a whole, and the recent hoopla over the British monarchy, it's not surprising both Russians and Euros lean towards Daddy-figures to take care of them.

The past two thousand years of Euro history is filled with despots, demagogues, monarchies and other authoritarian states.

IMO, history shows that people who rely on the State to care for them will always fall to such assholes in illiberal democracies, if not outright dictatorships.

IMO, a state where citizens accept responsibility for themselves and work with their fellow citizens for the betterment of all is both a free and sustainable society.

Agreed on your theory 100%.

Putin is running out of rockets, Russia cannot produce them quickly, and no one else will sell to him, so he is buying from North Korea. He is also in talks for the North Koreans to provide military units. So the North Korean Army might be invading Europe...

In other news, Russian soldiers have discovered many of their helmets are made of tin. They look like steal helmets under superficial inspection, but are much cheaper to make. Also, if stepped on, they crumple like soda cans, and are useless in protecting the head from shrapnel. Basically, the Russian arms suppliers have been stealing from the Russian Army for decades.

In odder news, Putin is killing businessmen who supported him... But could not make magic. The chairman of the largest oil company in Russia, Lukoil, was just thrown out a hospital window. One of his senior executives had previously been poisoned while visiting a voodoo shaman in Moscow... You can not make this stuff up. What is a voodoo shaman doing in Moscow? Is he from the Caribbean, or a Russian who says he is a voodoo shaman?

Oh, and also, why exactly is Putin murdering his own businessmen? These are men in their positions because of loyalty to Putin.

Just another Biden failure. Why are you so proud of this?

It is not Biden's job to assure that Russia has enough rockets for their war. I am not proud, or ashamed of this.

It is a bad sign for Putin that he has to go to North Korea begging for help... AND... It is a good sign for South Korea that they will have fewer rockets pointed at them. For the rest of us, it is what it is.
