Many predicted that China would target the U.S. food supply. They were right.

Squash 'em when you see them.

China had nothing to do with it. Our policies of importing cheap Chinese crap brought the lanternfly here on plants, wood products or produce.

Spotted lanternfly populations are currently found in 12 states including: Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Fortunately, they don't bite people.

Sure ... it was an accident ... like the Wuhan Lab Flu. :palm:

So then China does have something to do with it...

Not good, moving fast. Right much AG in little old Virginia including my peanut farming cousin. Hope they find something that eats these things soon.

Dumb inbred fuck. Do you practice being stupid, or does it come naturally?

So China purposely sent lanternflies here.

Go with that.

They sent their Chinese Disease all over the world, didn't they? They denied it in the beginning, then denied how contagious it was. Fuck China, and fuck you for sticking up for them.

Yep, they banned domestic flights, ... and continued to permit international flights.

and bill gates is buying up farmland to let it go fallow and reduce the food supply also too.

Over the past two centuries, thousands of non-native insects have hitchhiked to the United States in packing material, on live plants, and in passenger baggage.
Scientists with two U.S. Department of Agriculture(USDA) agencies and their partners used the history of live plant imports and invasion by a common group of insects to estimate the rate at which new insects are arriving and how many new insect species may yet be in store for U.S. forests and agricultural fields.

Findings suggest that efforts to reduce biological hitchhiking on live plant imports, often referred to as “biosecurity,” are working. However, more than a century of invasion by Hemiptera insects also suggests that increased trade might offset the effects of improved biosecurity. As many as 25 percent of invading Hemiptera insects may have yet to be detected in the nation’s forests and agricultural fields.

The USDA Forest Service, examined records from 1854 to 2012; they found that 930 non-native species of plant-feeding insects in the Hemipter order have invaded the United States. The research team was able to identify the origins of 770 of those species.

Hemiptera are small, plant-feeding insects (the order includes true bugs, aphids, and scales), and many of these species cause considerable damage to agricultural and forest plants. The Hemiptera order includes more than 80,000 insect species, and accidental transport of live plants or plant products is the main pathway by which most Hemiptera move among continents.

I HAVE A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM.

THE PRAYING MANTIS IS YOUR BEST FRIEND!

Predators of the spotted lanternfly include praying mantises, chickens, garden spiders, gray catbirds, yellowjackets, wheel bugs, garter snakes, and koi fish.

Also the little Spotted Orb Weaver Spider feasts on the Lanternfly!

For Decades now, America has done more damage to our natural defenses to invasive insects through the irresponsible applications of ruthless and reckless pest control poisons that kill everything that walks, flies, or crawls.

Just like everything else, there is a proper way to kill BAD BUGS- and it's usually not done with chemicals- It's done by protecting the Good Bugs and other natural predators that are the natural enemies of the pests that destroy our landscape and food crops.

REGULATIONS? Yes, I believe in them! However, a certain political party I know- HATE ANY KIND OF REGULATION AND DON'T BELIEVE IN THEM WITHOUT EVEN QUESTIONING THEIR IMPORTANCE!

Governmental Agencies like the US FOREST AGENCY, US DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, The ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY, and etc. and etc. are all very capable of handling crisis like infestations of pests- BUT THEY ARE GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES- AND AGAIN- there is a political party that continues to try and de-fund these agencies, and shut them down, for political gain.

And then there are the REDNECK UNEDUCATED HOMEOWNERS that goes down to WALMART or HOME DEPOT and asks for a poison to kill everything that lives- JUST TO GET RID OF FLEAS OR ANTS in their yard.

And then you have the REDNECK UNEDUCATED CLERKS THAT WORK IN HOME DEPOT OR WALMART that recommends these DEADLY and harmful KILL-EVERYTHING products to everybody that comes in the store for whatever reason!

THEN THERE ARE THE CORPORATE FARMERS THAT CONTINUE TO USE DANGEROUS PESTICIDES THAT KILL EVERYTHING IN IT'S PATH- unregulated- and out-of-control that end up killing more of us- THAN INSECTS!

PEOPLE BETTER START RE-THINKING THEIR POLITICS!

Tucker has been talking about how it sure does seem like a lot of our food plants are being incapacitated by fires and the like. I have not made up my mind what is going on.

Oh! That reminds me, I need to go get something to get rid of these damn bees, they have become Africanized. The simplest solution is to just build a smoky fire right there.

Better not rule that out.

do you think monsanto plays a role in changing agricultural policies and de facto standards?

you should try to pinpoint the real culprits instead of just blaimg "america".

is your innate fascism causing you to blur rationality?
