LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Los Angeles City Council on Friday voted unanimously to place an ordinance that would house homeless people in hotels alongside guests on the March 2024 ballot rather than adopt it immediately.

unlike voluntary programs in the past, this one would be mandatory.......


Hotel developments of 15 or more rooms that demolish or convert housing for the project would have to replace it with the same amount of affordable housing near the site, according to the proposed ordinance.

State's rights. I'm guessing the hotel industry in California will be moving to Texas along with everyone else.

The ordinance will require a majority vote to pass. If it becomes law, the city's Housing Department would pay hotels a fair market rate to lodge each person after identifying hotels with vacant rooms.
 
They don’t have to do the same level of house cleaning either


Just supply clean sheets and towels once a week


So they get fair market and the housed change their own beds
 
A constantly full hotel that no one skips out on paying


No advertising budget needed


Mental health resources and counselors visiting people all the time

and the motels will have no say in whether homeless people will be living in their rooms........because the government says......

uh desh.......they don't stay a week........this is a daily thing and covers rooms that are not booked by 2pm.......of course, it may be that the paying guests will cancel when they find out what's happening.......then the homeless will take over the whole building forever........
 
They can move their business to Texas huh


They were refusing the vouchers from people merely because they were from the government coffers


Discriminating against people because they had some homelessness in their past

its a sweet deal.......the state gets a free homeless shelter at the expense of the property owner.........and when property values plummet the state can pick up the property at a fraction of what its really worth.......win/win.......
