Good physical prowess is something I never had...until about age 70...and then I suddenly developed some skills. Maybe it was the golf...but it is one of the most satisfying changes of my life.

You are correct that what you have or do not have is NONE OF MY BUSINESS. I agree.

I just wish you could think more clearly about what is happening and what has happened.

There is no way clear thinking can come up with Trump being more than a con man...and a huge negative for America.

Nope.

It was strictly a SCOTUS decision...and opened the door for corporations and very wealthy people to donate huge sums of money which apparently greatly influence elections. Decision settled along ideological make-up of the court...with the conservatives in the majority and the liberal in the minority.

People elect presidents, presidents appoint SCOTUS and after that its the Constitution that decides (most of the time).

Fix the real problem by making giving money NOT free speech then all businesses can do is their Constitutional right to lobby.

Removing silly amounts of money from elections would be a very good thing.

Trump is the worst thing ever to happen to our Republic...and that includes the Civil War. The damage he has done may never be remediated.

Through Trump, the Republicans finally succeeded in establishing a RW activist theistic SCOTUS. IMO, that’ll hurt our nation over the next 30-40 years when competing against more enlightened nations. Like Russia, our nukes are only good for defense, not offense. We’ll stagnate with a poorly educated public trained only well enough to work on a factory. After all, why would we need more? There’ll be the rich and then everyone else. “We get the government we deserve”.

The problem with Citizens United is that it open the doors to those businesses to spend all the meony they wanted. Bezo’s billions gives him more votes than everyone on JPP combined. In fact, the entire United States. Same for other rich individuals and organizations. You bitch about unions (individual people) and then seek to protect the corporations/TPTB. Why? For your job? Give away your kids’ futures for some hard cash now?

Agreed. Limiting the amount of money is a very good thing. I’d also limit the time. Two fucking years of Presidential campaigning is 18 months too fucking long. Limit electioneering to something reasonable like, IMO, 6 months. 6 weeks would be better, but I’ll compromise for a win.
