That was not the purpose of the tariffs. They were supposed to help American businesses. This did happen but as many businesses were hurt. It was supposed to bring businesses back to the U. S.

That was the first priority but business leaving China for anywhere else was a win for America. China is not our friend and is potentially a very real threat.
