While I tend to agree, it's difficult to determine if the differences are cultural or genetic. I've trained a lot of foreign males and some, as a group, were clearly better than others. That's cultural. The worst were Saudis and Italians, the best Norwegians, Germans and Spaniards.

Part of the difference when training Third World pilots is that American kids grow up with tech; remote controls, now iPads and other electronic tech. Third World grows up like hillbillies without running water much less electricity.

I must add that some female pilots like some of their male counter parts are rotten pilots. I remember one that couldn't make a single engine approach to save her ass. Even I not being a pilot could make a single engine approach. If you could fly the sim you could fly the jet.

It has to do with things like hand-eye coordination, spatial ability, ability to withstand G forces, quick reflexes, ability to multitask, ability to stay highly focused, ability to work as a team (for the demonstration squad), physical fitness (not strength). Can you point out where men have more of these skills than women? Testosterone has nothing to do with any of these skills/abilities. Neither does estrogen.

True, but I've found the percentage is lower for women. Just guessing, but over my airline career, it seems only 1 in 10 are female and most were better than average. Only one was a problem and her's was mostly an attitude problem, not a skill one.

The whole "#2 tries harder" philosophy seems to kick in with women in fields dominated by men. In general, I had to put up with less bullshit from women pilots than men. They were competent and focused. Often much more conscientious.
