yep. vouchers are universal payment for any Maine school that meet qualification standardsSince it applies to "any otherwise qualified" school, there is no establishment.

no the Establishment clause means the government cannot FAVOR any religion or lack of religionAll public schools? And just as many alternate schools are losing students to public schools, in fact, most charter schools fail
And again, the thread is on the Trump Court laying the groundwork for the public funding of private including religious schools, hardly what the Founders envisioned as the separation of Church and State
If Farrakan had a school that met all standard requirements - his religious school could not be excluded eitherIt is straight funding, and you got to be living in DisneyWorld if you think those Red States are ever going to fund schools as say those started by Farrakhan, as I said, they are going ballistic of CRT not being taught, can’t imagine what they would do with a school directly teaching such
Just like satanic displays are protected on public property; if a Satanic school met educative criteria-Awesome!!! Now I can get a tuition voucher for Hogwarts! Or maybe The Church of Satan K-12 Academy!
Seriously, this is going to open a huge can of worms.
I dont want to pay taxes to fund the Ukraine war..your rights are limited as are mine when public policyI do not want to pay taxes for them. It violates my right.

overrides individual conscience
Just like satanic displays are protected on public property; if a Satanic school met educative criteria-
the state could not preclude vouchers to such
well if they can take satanic displays they can take a madrass.Very true, now due to this ruling. A Muslim madrass will be able to accept students receiving tuition from the taxpayer-funded vouchers. Won't *that* go over big in BibleBigotryLand? lol
why are you asking me? I'm Nicene Buddhist - but Xtians dont have problems with weird sex ID's-Let's use a hypothetical example. A LGBT school where the majority of students are LGBT, would Christians be good with that?
why are you asking me? I'm Nicene Buddhist - but Xtians dont have problems with weird sex ID's-
just teaching that stuff to age inappropriate kids
lol.. I advocate the Establishment clause.I am asking you because you advocate this. And Fundamentalist Christians are not okay with LGBT. Stop being obtuse.
lol.. I advocate the Establishment clause.
Neither favoring one religion over another, or religion vs non-religion
Fundamentalist are always judgemental, same with Islamic fundamentalism
your personal hostility to religion is irrelevant. If the parents want their children to be indoctrinated, let them pay for them. Leave us out of it. The government that we pay taxes to has no business paying for the establishment of a religion with our money. Goes against the First Amendment.
your personal hostility to religion is irrelevant.
Government must take a neutrality position when dealing with religion
vouchers are not "paying for indoctrination" -they pay for services of providing an education for kidsPersonal hostility? What are you babbling about?
Yes government must take a neutrality position. But not pay for indoctrination at our expense. We don't want to pay for the children to be in a cult.
^ no hostility here 'eh?? LMAOa cult.

”High court rules religious schools can get Maine tuition aid”
“The Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that Maine can’t exclude religious schools from a program that offers tuition aid for private education, a decision that could ease religious organizations’ access to taxpayer money.”
“Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for a conservative majority that the program violates the Constitution’s protections for religious freedoms.”
“Maine’s ‘nonsectarian’ requirement for its otherwise generally available tuition assistance payments violates the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment. Regardless of how the benefit and restriction are described, the program operates to identify and exclude otherwise eligible schools on the basis of their religious exercise,” Roberts wrote.”

So, if I am not mistaken, Roberts is saying not funding religious schools violates their freedom of religion, which is bizarre by any understanding, guess the Establishment Clause doesn’t exist anymore on the right
Does this mean that those schools have to teach by law anyone who appears at their door, that they can’t reject or throw out students as public schools are required? Will Universities as Norte Dame down the road be entities to the same public funding?
Should be interesting when the ruling gets interpreted and applied in the Red States when such as the the Nation of Islam, which teaches CRT on steroids, or, the Atheist Republic apply for funding for starting primary schools.
And we still have big decisions on guns, equal rights, elections, and of course abortion, still to come
vouchers dont pay for bible reading. They pay for a specific requirement of educational standards in that state.Noah's Ark, the flood, Genesis and such are education?
I dont judge others religions -it's their free will.So you don't consider Jehovah Witness and Mormon to be cults?
vouchers dont pay for bible reading. They pay for a specific requirement of educational standards in that state.
Any religious time is incidental, as the contract is to provide such educational measures
I dont judge others religions -it's their free will.
I do judge my own as i've spent time on my own world comparative religions
lots of people have had weird/odd / non-mainstream beliefs.Okay so the indoctrination is free? Would the teachers be willing to work for free?
That's fine if you don't judge. Doesn't change the fact that some of them are cults. Scientology would be one big example.
teachers get paid to do their educational dutiesOkay so the indoctrination is free? Would the teachers be willing to work for free?
