That was the best hearing so far. Powerful and damning testimony.

We fought Trump pressure, GOP state officials tell 1/6 panel

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House 1/6 committee outlined on Tuesday Donald Trump’s relentless pressure to overturn the 2020 presidential election, aiming to show it led to widespread personal threats on the stewards of American democracy — election workers and local officials who fended off the defeated president’s efforts.

The hearing opened with chilling accounts of the barrage of verbal attacks facing state and local elected officials, including Arizona’s Republican House speaker Rusty Bowers who said he was subject to a “disturbing” smear campaign online, bull-horn protests at his home and a pistol-wielding man taunting his family and neighbors.

When Trump's own former staff, cabinet members, family, and allies said Trump knew he lost, and engaged in attempts to overturn an election he knew Biden won, that is as close to fascism as this nation has ever gotten

It doesn't fucking MATTER!

Trump isn't in office. There are far more important things than extracting revenge on him going on right now. The Democrats get NOTHING out of pushing the Jan 6 hearings like they are.

We already went through that too. A hearing is a trial. That's the legal definition, Humpty Dumpty whether you like it, or not. Words have meaning and you don't get to make up your own definitions for them as you like.

A hearing is not necessarily a trial even in a Court setting. There can also be non-judicial court hearings, like the one before the Committee today.

At this point it's irrelevant. The point of the whole thing is to get what amounts to a third impeachment of Trump. The results of any outcome have also become clear. No matter what the committee finds, no matter what the DoJ does, the Democrats lose politically. If the committee gets everything they want they just enrage Trump supporters to fight harder against them while they change no one else's mind about a thing.

By ignoring what is truly politically important and focusing on the trivial, they've pissed away any hope of winning in November and likely even in 2024.

To quote Barr, you are out of touch with reality.

Right wingers avoiding the discussion of the hearings. They know they are wrong.

I’m not avoiding shit. I see what you daffodils post here about it, and I don’t have to waste bandwidth responding to every one of your idiotic posts on this subject. Still voting for Trump (if he even runs, I think he has a plan).

The point isn't at all about getting "a third impeachment of Trump". It's about getting at the truth not only of January 6 but of the damaging aspects of the entire Stolen Election debacle. Today's hearing provided a painful look into a
part of it. There's more to come.

If that were the case, the 'committee' wouldn't be singularly focused on Trump, but here were are and that's exactly what they're doing...

Yea, sure.

More cherry-picked witnesses and "evidence." No, rebuttal, no cross-examination. Hell, the witnesses weren't even sworn in.

All the while, the economy is in a tailspin, inflation is out-of-control, the border is wide open, our enemies abroad are laughing at us, and the Joke in the White House doesn't even know what day of the week it is.

One more time, it isn't a trial. Maybe I'll ask Damocles to pin it so you won't forget.

Then by all means, show your logic and proof of that. I've shown how the outcome is only negative for Democrats more than once, yet all you do is throw insults, ad hominem, and one-line nonsense at me in return.

They don't give a single fuck if it's negative for them. Neither does Liz Cheney.
