'Go back to your office.... we'll call you if there's an oil spill"

Then AG Garland has a crime to indict Trump with.

Yes he does. He may very well indict Trump. But Trump is still running for President, and his cult members won't care that he's indicted. They know he's a criminal. But he's THEIR criminal so they're fine with it

This is such a great story. What a wonderful bunch of Americans Democrats are am I right, friend?

I doubt Donny has ever enjoyed life. It's the curse of every narcissist. He still has far too much sway. He got revenge on two sitting US Representatives last night in South Carolina, and I believe one in Nevada. They still worship him. The cult is a alive and thriving.

How many people have been destroyed by just getting close to twump? Billy Bush, Rudy, Mike Cohen, Mr. Pillow, Bannon, Navarro, Sidney whatsterfuck.. etc..

Over a moron!

This proves just how soulless and cynical some people can be and how well karma works. Jeez.

Well, for Bannon's part, he got a pardon for bilking Trump supporters out of millions of dollars. Which speaks volumes on multiple levels. But yes, it's hard to understand what their thinking was.

Says who? I don't believe that being a felon bars you from running. That being said, he may be indicted, but he won't be in prison, between delays and appeals he can easily put that off for two years.

It is in the Constitution. No one participating in an insurrection can run or hold public office.

If he is accused and convicted of that crime, you are correct. But that seems highly unlikely in the time frame we're talking about. The charges I hear discussed are interfering with the function of government. It's easy to think the guardrails are still in place, but they are gone. And this SCOTUS isn't likely to help.

J/6 Committee stated in first hearing that Trump is guilty of a violent coup.

Bannon hasn't been pardoned for his part in plotting the coup. Uh oh! :)

Yep. That and a dime will get you a cup of coffee. Action is all that matters. The time to act was while Dems held the levers of power. They chose not to act. It's disappointing. If Trump is indicted it will most likely not be for seditious conspiracy. I completely agree with your sentiment, I am just jaded by the functioning of the entire political system. We tend to treat inaction as lack of a choice, when in fact it IS the choice. People simply don't care enough about free and fair elections to actually protect them. So this is where we find ourselves.

If Biden does not tell Garland to prosecute Trump will take over the government.

That isn't Biden's role, nor should it be. You pick the guy you believe will do the right thing and you leave him alone to do it. The second law enforcement becomes a political tool you have lost the moral high ground. And that is still important. I believe Garland will prosecute. I don't believe that saves us from what's happening.

It is. By the structure of government. I am surprised how many people do not know the President is in charge of the Department of Justice. Shameful.

Yes, I'm aware of that. Please, don't try lecturing me. There is a long standing tradition of Presidents not interfering in the function of DOJ, because that would give the DOJ the appearance of a political tool of the President. I'm surprised you weren't aware of that. Shameful.
