A hearing.
It's not a hearing either.
A hearing.
A fake hearing.
It's not a hearing either.
https://www.britannica.com/topic/hearing-lawhearing, in law, a trial. More specifically, a hearing is the formal examination of a cause, civil or criminal, before a judge according to the laws of a particular jurisdiction. In common usage a hearing also refers to any formal proceeding before a court. In reference to criminal procedure a hearing refers to a proceeding before a magistrate subsequent to the inception of the case and without a jury—especially a preliminary hearing, in which a magistrate or judge, in the presence of the accused, determines whether there is sufficient evidence to justify proceeding with the case.

Really? What do you call it then? And don't say witch hunt because that's beating a dead horse.

a judicial trial held in public with the intention of influencing or satisfying public opinion, rather than of ensuring justice.
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/show trial: a trial (as of political opponents) in which the verdict is rigged and a public confession is often extracted
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/show-triala trial organized by a government in order to have an effect on public opinion and reduce political opposition, and not in order to find the truth
Hmm seems that someone conveniently omits one particular definition.
Really? What definition would that be?
So are you saying that the Benghazi hearing was a show trial?
c : a session (as of a legislative committee) in which testimony is taken from witnesses
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/hearing
BTW, you said it isn't a trial so those definitions don't apply.
No, the Benghazi hearings were purely a political matter to begin with. The death of a US ambassador--an event that hadn't happened in decades-- needed investigation by the government because it was a government matter. A civil distrubance / riot is a criminal matter, not a political one. The Democrats turned that into a political one even as it wasn't. The committee is a show trial and nothing more.
This guy ^ says that the 1/6 insurrection wasn't a political matter.
You said it was a hearing. I showed that a hearing and a trial are one in the same thing.
No I didn't. You said that it isn't a trial. Therefore the definitions you cited don't apply.
I said it's a trial, or more specifically, a show trial. Definition-wise, I am supported in that. You called it a "hearing." I showed that a hearing and a trial are the same thing.
Yeah a real trial would let non Trump haters cross examine the witnesses. It's not a real trial or a real investigation.
So, if it isn't a trail, and it isn't a hearing, what is it?
You showed the definitions that presuppose that there is a trial. Re-read the definitions.
