Russia shut out permanently from world energy markets

I suspect that Putin believed that he could continue to sell his oil to Europe even while ravaging one of the nations there. Guess he miscalculated our capacity for change, and our outrage as well.

This isn't like the invasion of Georgia or Crimea

Putin's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine is so shocking precisely because of it's barbarity, it's criminality, and it's indiscriminate use of violence against civilians.

Nothing even remotely like it has been seen in Europe since Hitler was in power.

Until February 2022, Europeans thought Putin could be engaged with. I think their eyes have been opened, and they consider Putin an irredeemable war criminal, a dangerous war monger, a duplicitous gangster whose word cannot be trusted.

USA is maxed out at ti's LNG terminals,, Green energy?? does Germany never learn?

Provide a legitimate and credible journalistic source that states it's utterly impossible over the next five years for the USA and Canada to upgrade our LNG export capacity to Europe.

So shocking that the EU is still sucking down Russian energy like it's going out of style.

I accept your tacit confession that when it comes to Russia, you have a long line of failed predictions.

I'm not predicting what Russia is going to do moron I'm predicting what the EU is not going to do and that's sacrifice anything whatsoever to provide for their own defense and security not when they have globalist shills running the US who are more than willing to have the US taxpayers foot the bill because they're taking their marching orders from Davos and the CCP.

Lol Biden is freezing drilling leases as we speak, we import energy now how about you show us a source that the Biden junta intends to expand US LNG production and/or export capacity.

And on what planet do you live where you think the EU is going to foot the extra expense for LNG over cheap Russian gas? They won't even chip in a fraction of the $$$ that the US haa to help Ukraine but you think they're going to restructure their entire economies? You're being sold a bill of goods.

You're an anonymous loser typing on a keyboard, and you have no training or expertise in global energy markets.

Your predictions do not carry any weight.

The professionals quoted in the OP are executives at global energy companies.

Your appeal to authority fallacies mean jackshit, if the post cold war era has taught us anything it's that the EU is not willing to make sacrifices in comfort for their own defense and security as they know damn well thar the US taxpayers will be footing the bill, I'll be taking the lessons of the last 40 years of free rider foreign policy over the bullshit predictions of your supposed experts, like I said call me when Germany stops sucking down Russian gas but until then GFYS you stupid fuck.

A large export or import terminal can cost more than $1 billion, and planning, obtaining permits and completing construction can take years.

the funny part is Ukraine loses the transit fees if the pipeline shut down to Europe

I guess we;ll pay for that fiasco as well

The geographic location of Russia's gas resources make it exceedingly difficult to pipe it across the Eurasian landmass to get to Chinese markets. Russia's gas transportation infrastructure is almost entirely constructed to serve Europe.
Putin screwed the pooch when he invaded Crimea. Rex Tillerson (remember him?) was about to aid Putin with Arctic drilling. That ended when Putin started his illegal invastion of Ukraine. Had Putin waited, he might be in a better position.

History will record our present tolerance of Russian aggression similarly to how we still had slavery in the 1860s--a national disgrace.

Right now, America doesn't seem to be anywhere near the pinnacle of human accomplishment...that's for sure.

If Putin dies or loses power Europe will line up to buy Russian energy.
Doubtful. Putin's successor isn't much different than he is, and I'm quite sure Russia will be forced to fund Ukraine infrastructure repair before they are brought back into the global economy

The moron didn't even wait for Germany to sign off on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. He believed that the EU had no choice but to buy his energy products.

N. Korea is broke, but China and India have been lapping up Russian oil at $35/barrel.

I'm guessing the future will be much more bleak for Russia.

Russia imports lots of N. Korean labor for things like logging. I could see N. Korea paying in slave labor...
