I don't drink, haven't for 16 years, but I might make an exception for a beer or two (I did break down for a few shots of Crown Royal with my friends for my birthday) with you.

My hopes are that it doesn't come to a civil war. If it does though, I am prepared.

Again. my hopes are this nation can come together like we did on 9-11, without any loss of life.

My hope also are that this nation can overcome the differences in play right now and come together. I also hope for total world peace.

I think the chances of either happening are about the same.

The posts in this forum indicate there is almost no chance. Considering how small our community here is, just look at the number of posts that say (or imply) try protesting near me and I will shoot you.

In the past what made this country great was people discussing their hopes and dreams for the country, their differences, then being honest enuff to open up to each other and and drop the partisan bullshit. No side has ever been 100 % correct. People need to admit that each side has valid points instead of this MY TEAM is always right BULLSHIT,....because it is not! Cable news, print, and as much as I hate to say it places like THIS ONE have helped cause this divide. So,....what do we want as a country? Stone, same thing applies to you as I said to RB. Love to sit and down a few brews and have a few laughs. I CLEARLY AND EASILY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT BOTH SIDES HAVE VALID POINTS...AND THE AISLE SIDE I FAVOR IS NOT "ALWAY RIGHT."

The present Supreme Court has a huge conservative bent...and it happened because Mitch McConnell refused to allow Obama to appoint a justice so close to an election (9 months)...and because Mitch McConnell RUSHED through a Trump appointee just weeks before another election.

And a monumental decision seems to have been made by that court...one that changes the way things have been for over 70 years.

Conservatives here are worked up in anger over people PEACEFULLY protesting that...while at the same time excusing the behavior of a crowd attempting to overturn a legitimate election in a decidedly NON-PEACEFUL way.

How do we reconcile stuff like that?

How do we reconcile the REASONABLE distress of people who realize that the citizens of conservative states have such a power advantage over the citizens of progressive states in the Senate and in the Electoral College?

Protests do not have to be violent at the homes of Supreme Court Justices to be a violation of the US Code.

Title 18, Section 1507 of the United States Code provides an official position of the U.S. government that the press secretary could not provide.

“Whoever, with the intent of interfering with, obstructing, or impeding the administration of justice, or with the intent of influencing any judge, juror, witness, or court officer, in the discharge of his duty, pickets or parades in or near a building housing a court of the United States, or in or near a building or residence occupied or used by such judge, juror, witness, or court officer, or with such intent uses any sound-truck or similar device or resorts to any other demonstration in or near any such building or residence, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.”

Yet no arrests.

Like I said previously on the thread: this is the same as the Iraq War. The conclusion is reached first - and then only the "facts" that support the conclusion are allowed in. Everything else is filtered out & ignored.

Apparently it was less than 43K vote not less than 41K votes . my bad. But you get the idea. The voter trafficking was enough that it could have changed the election.

If they do not lie...why didn't the Trump people submit them in court through all those cases. Each of those cases was thrown out...with most of the judges laughing at what was supposedly evidence.

Get off it. Just as Trump was legitimately elected in 2016...Joe Biden was legitimately elected in 2020. The only difference in the elections is that Hillary Clinton had the ethical fortitude and class to concede defeat. Trump has no ethical fortitude and not an iota of class...so he still hasn't conceded...and still leads the morons who continue supporting him to resist.
