Ectopic pregnancies perhaps ? Rape ? Too young/old ? Inconvenient ?

What will you be petitioning your state legislatures to include / exclude ?

Getting busy with this COULD allow your state to have a state approved alternative in place by the time the SCOTUS opinion rolls into place.

I think it would be best for the residence of your states to have whatever solution they approve of in place for day one.

We the people can now vote on the issue. A win for democracy!

What if this is a DEMOCRAT trick?

Not so fast.

There is no ruling yet.

Much can change between a first draft and a published opinion.

Drafts are circulated among the justices for this exact purpose, so that all who join in the majority might have a chance to suggest changes to improve the final product.

This draft represents what Alito was thinking in February, and it may reflect the opinion of other justices, but it is not exactly what the court will issue when the time comes.

  • Supreme Court deliberations are usually kept behind closed doors, but historians of the court know of several occasions where there was initially a majority for one ruling, but one or more justices changed their minds, with the final ruling ending up to be the opposite result.
  • In Casey, Chief Justice William Rehnquist initially had a five-justice majority to uphold Pennsylvania’s abortion restrictions but lost it when Justice Anthony Kennedy changed his mind and joined the dissenters to author what became the opinion of the court.
  • In NFIB v. Sebelius — the Obamacare case — the same situation is said to have prevailed, with Roberts switching sides after the initial conference vote in order to uphold the law.

True. But I will treat it as a done deal for jpp debate purposes.

Women, for and against, now have the right to have their vote heard on the matter.

I suspect a DEMOCRAT strategy of deception.

By creating the false appearance of another chimerical "blue tsunami" based on the draft leak, they are likely setting up the gullible to believe their cheating in November will be plausible.

This way, when they steal important races in the midterms, they will have an explanation for their "massive landslide".

Plausible.

I don't know what she means by that, but it sounds like she's saying Hispanic Whites oppose abortion.

Will Dems open borders backfire on them. Maddow thinks so.

So some women are more equal than others, eh?

well probably so but votes for Congress are meaningless if this gets done and it becomes the state issue it always was.

thats for your state and mine to determine for themselves.

of course in every abortion two patients enter the procedure room alive but only one exits that way. Oddly enough its always they one with no say in the matter.

Because they aren't conscious, silly.

Just my opinion, but abortion should be permitted, for convenience, until there is a heartbeat. After that, only if there's a threat to the mother's life.

Not enough time. Some women don't even know they're pregnant at that point.

The 1st trimester was a smart compromise, and has been the law of the land for decades. That should be the standard.
