FL sheriff advises people to shoot home intruders -"We prefer that you do, actually"

What i really don't like are single action autos like the famous 1911 45 ACP. They have to be carried cocked and locked and you have to remember to flip off the safety. That works ok if it's the only handgun you have but most gun owners have other guns that don't have a safety. Double action autos where you just pull the trigger and it fires are ok.

Millions of american men think the 1911 is the best handgun every made but i disagree.
^^^ Another moron who will end up shooting himself in his pants. :rofl2:

Translation: Wahhhh! Dutch is smarter than me! Mommmie!

Get a fucking clue, Matt.

You're a sneaky weasel fuck, Dutchy.

You're not smarter than a toaster.

The fact that you equate being a sneaky weasel with being intelligent just proves you're just a dishonest, dumbass shitbag and probably a thief, too.

You'd be hella dangerous if you had half a brain.

You're a fucking moron who projects your own petty hatreds upon others. Obviously you are a Satanic cocksucker, not a Christian. Sad, but Hell needs more assholes like you.

So refute the 5 points i made proving blacks are severely handicapped mentally. Hell - refute just one of them. Try the first one. Why do blacks do so terrible on all standardized tests??

Refute your lies? Prove a negative? LOL Go back to your room, dipshit. Take a chill pill.

The 1911 is great except for the single action feature. That's a big problem. I used to have a DA auto in 45 ACP by Ruger and that was a nice gun though i didn't really like it cuz i don't like autos.

The 1911 is one of the safest firearms ever made and after 112 years it is still going strong. The downside is, they are heavy, low capacity, and require some skill to completely disassemble, but, in 45acp, that big heavy slow moving bullet is great medicine for home invaders.

Metinks 20 gauge would weigh more at about the same velocity, no?

This gun can also be chambered for .22. The 1911 design uses a manual safety. It's an older design, but is easy to clean and service.

No, it doesn't. Some people just leave it unchambered and then rack and fire. It's a bit like leaving no round chambered in a revolver that has no transfer bar or hammer bar.
and you have to remember to flip off the safety.
Not a problem for most. An easy squeeze with your thumb, then fire.

You DO realize, don't you, that there are more semi-autos than the 1911, right?
Double action autos where you just pull the trigger and it fires are ok.
Some people consider the striker mechanism a double action gun, but it's not. There is no hammer. You do not have to pull against a mainspring. This gun uses a striker action. This means the Glock has a light trigger, making it more accurate to shoot.

Many people like the 1911 design because of it's simplicity (as semi-autos go), and that they might have carried one while serving in the military.

What you like and what millions of other like doesn't have to be the same.

How safe is too safe? :D

He like revolvers. Nuthin' wrong with that!

Personally I am not a big fan of them. The trigger action is quite stiff for double action weapons, and inconvenient to have to cock it yourself for single action use. They are also kind of fat for the ammunition they use, and don't conceal as well.

Personally, I've never found a problem with disassembling them. Good solid gun too.

I like safe. Yes, a double action revolver has quite a stiff trigger pull when not cocked. 13 pounds I think it is?

Mine's lightened as much as I can get it but trigger discipline is one of the most important things with a revolver.

Cocked, the trigger pull is around 3 lbs.

Really pistols are for "Oh shit, my life is in danger, I have to shoot quick" scenarios.
