FL sheriff advises people to shoot home intruders -"We prefer that you do, actually"

Pretty sure a girl online showed me how to field strip a Glock, and it looks like it's made to be easy.

And I don't even have a Glock.

I can take apart my S&W, though. And lighten up the trigger pull while still having it fully functional.

Field stripping a Glock really is that easy.

Rack and fire!!!!! That takes time.
About a second.
Better to have a gun that you just pull the trigger and it fires.
Some people are uncomfortable with accidental discharge.
You mean putting 5 rounds in a cylinder that holds 6 rounds???
Yes.
You still fire the gun the same way for all the rounds.
If you don't mine the extremely stiff trigger.
It's not that way with the 1911. You have to remember to flip off the safety for that first round.
Not hard. Just squeeze it off with your thumb and fire.
As i said earlier that is ok if the 1911 is the only handgun you have.
Are you saying that a 1911 owner is unfamiliar with his weapon just because he owns a different weapon??
But most gun owners have other guns and most of them don't have a safety.
Attempted proof by consensus fallacy.

it doesn't matter what 'most gun owners' do or what they own. You don't get to speak for 'most gun owners'. Omniscience fallacy.

We can spend a lot of time discussing the merits of the 1911 but it has helped win two world wars and been carried in countless other US military involvements. I carried one during my military service in the 1960's and will carry one tomorrow while at work. More modern firearms have replaced John Moses Browning's creation but not in the hearts of true firearm lovers.

Nah. Nothing has really replaced the 1911. Indeed, it is still used in service today in the military. I certainly understand why you like this gun.

I have a Glock and a 1911. I have no problem with remembering the safety switch before firing. Apparently Text Drivers likes to make shit up. He himself openly admits to not liking the 1911 and probably never learned one enough to become familiar with it.

It was a good handgun for the military because it was the only handgun most american soldiers carried. For civilian use it's not so good because the shooter forgets to flip off the safety since his other handguns don't have a safety.

American is a proper noun. It is capitalized.
No, the military likes the 1911, Glocks, Sig Saure, Beretta, Smith & Wesson, and the Walther.

Not many revolvers found, but some do carry them.
For civilian use it's not so good because the shooter forgets to flip off the safety since his other handguns don't have a safety.

Not a problem. Only YOU are making it a problem.

Thanks you for another fine example of RW authoritarianism, anti-Constitutionalism and anti-military hatred.

Butt out and go back to reading,

Where was that in this meme, Mr. Tiny Penis?

That's nice, honey. Soon it will be med time and then lights out for you.

Sure, Matt. You jus' keep drinkin', old man. Those prison days are behind you.

Yes, I'm getting ready to brush my teeth, take my evening meds and have a good nights sleep. I expect you'll be up awhile, eh? LOL

No, Sybil. You're not a transmission. You're just a deluded paranoid schizophrenic.

I never mentioned your hallucination. When you describe Sybil has being a paranoid schizophrenic (I doubt you even know what that means!), are you describing yourself?

No, Sybil, I'm describing the nutjob who has at least three socks on JPP: you, gfm and IBDaMann. All linked on your faux forum/storage area: https://politiplex.freeforums.net/board/1/politics-usual. The same website all three of your personalities are compelled to advertise in your signatures.

Some definitions so that you and I are on the same page:

https://www.psycom.net/paranoid-schizophrenia
Paranoid schizophrenia is characterized by predominantly positive symptoms of schizophrenia, including delusions and hallucinations. These debilitating symptoms blur the line between what is real and what isn’t, making it difficult for the person to lead a typical life.

Schizophrenia occurs in about 1.1 percent of the population, while paranoid schizophrenia is considered the most common subtype of this chronic disorder.1 The average age of onset is late adolescence to early adulthood, usually between the ages of 18 to 30. It is highly unusual for schizophrenia to be diagnosed after age 45 or before age 16. Onset in males typically occurs earlier in life than females.2

https://www.webmd.com/schizophrenia/schizophrenia-paranoia
Paranoid schizophrenia, or schizophrenia with paranoia as doctors now call it, is the most common example of this mental illness.

Schizophrenia is a kind of psychosis, which means your mind doesn't agree with reality. It affects how you think and behave. This can show up in different ways and at different times, even in the same person. The illness usually starts in late adolescence or young adulthood.

People with paranoid delusions are unreasonably suspicious of others. This can make it hard for them to hold a job, run errands, have friendships, and even go to the doctor.

Although it's a lifelong illness, you can take medicines and find help to stop symptoms or make them easier to live with.
