bill stripping Disney of self governing status goes to Governor for signing

Don’t worry, it won’t happen, all a deflection to draw attention away from his gerrymandering to include eliminating black districts

Even when he signs it it would take over a year to work out and enact, meaning there will be ample room to amend and revise. Besides, aren’t there numerous similar special arrangements made with other special Districts throughout Florida, the Villages coming to mind, if it applies to Disney’s situation why wouldn’t it apply elsewhere
The Villages, heavily Republican, well that’s stupid.

Idiots, that’s so scary, I still think it’s just a stunt they’ll reserve after the election.
I'm thinking this will be front and center leading up to the election. By then Floridians will realize how much their taxes will go up.

Those that are still alive, that is. Covid is returning to Fla. this summer.

Nah, it won't happen before the elections, or probably at all, takes over a year to plan and implement, which leaves plenty of time for revision

Keep saying, it is all a deflection, DeSantis can mobilize the cultural crap plus populism all in one sweep to avoid attention of the gerrymandering he is passing which not only picks up to four GOP seats but also neutralizes the Black vote in Florida

Biden said he was going to end that

And just Fla not NYC? Hmmm

These fucks simply refuse to understand the fact...and fact is the right word....that Florida has handled COVID better than most states. The refusal to learn is epidemic in America.

I think there is plenty of time to crunch numbers in public before this November.

I don't think DeSantis wants to hide his new electoral maps. He's more apt to brag about them.

Right, if you believe the reports put out by the State of Florida, otherwise, no, in fact, doing worse than most States, and that was with a four month delay for them to learn how Covid and its variants effected other populations before they hit Florida (https://usafacts.org/visualizations/coronavirus-covid-19-spread-map/)

In Florida? Florida ain't famous for putting uncomfortable or accurate numbers on anything that would effect DeSantis

And he don't want to brag about the fact he is neutralizing the Black vote in Florida, racism isn't a can of worms he wants to open willingly

On an age adjusted basis, which is the only correct way to do it, Florida is 31st in deaths per capita from COVID . They also certainly have fewer excess deaths, they also preserved their economy better than almost everyone else, and they certainly also preserved freedom better than almost everyone else.

That's winning.

Do you have a link to that, or just more make believe bull shit?

Wait a minute, so other States don't have older people who have fell victim to Covid? And what is the variable for measuring adjusted age? And what in the hell is "excess deaths?"

And the economy bit is more Florida PR, keeping bars open isn't a weighty indicator, economically, Florida didn't fare any better than other States, and forget the "freedom" rant, more PR, being able to get the buffet at the Golden Corral isn't a measurement of freedom

You not knowing what excess deaths are is proof that less talking and more listening/learning is the plan for you.

Since Florida is such a major tourist attraction, I wonder how many people developed Covid in Fl and went home to die in their own states

Seems like something the CDC could have tracked had they wanted to.

It has been the want to that has been broken.

It also has 16 Community Development Districts; according to Florida statutes, the CDDs “main powers are to plan, finance, construct, operate and maintain community-wide infrastructure and services specifically for the benefit of its residents.” And, as with other government entities (like cities and counties), they’re able to obtain financing at lower, tax-exempt, interest rates. Although unincorporated, it is considered a census-designated metropolitan area.
