Poland cannot hand out rights to travel anywhere in the EU to refugees. It is part of the Schengen Agreement, which gives the EU control over it.

It is not being used, so not sending a strong message. It is being talked about being used, which is pretending to send a strong message. The purpose of pretending is to divert attention from the UK's failures compared to the EU.

The USA and the UK have done a fantastic job of providing weapons. Biden really placed the pressure on Germany, and considering how far behind they were before, they have sprinted forward... But are nowhere as good as the USA and the UK at providing weapons.

But the EU, including Germany, is far better at providing for refugees. Even before the war, Ukrainians had visa free travel to the EU, and very easy work visa requirements.

It actually is the main cause of the war. Putin saw Ukraine becoming more European: more prosperous and less corrupt. He was afraid that Russia would be next. Ukrainians have been getting tighter association with Europe.

I read that the conscripted Russian soldiers have been shocked by how affluent the average Ukrainian is compared to the Russians.

"Infidel" is a Latin word, and a Western Christian concept. The Ukrainians had a major Western Christian(Catholic) minority, which would have recognized the concept, but they were mostly killed or run off. Which is kind of ironic given your claim. Muslims neither have the word, nor the concept.

Any Ukrainian who wants to can travel to Denmark. The Danish Government is not trying to stop them, and has no right to stop them. Upon arriving in Denmark, they have all the rights to the Danish welfare system: free medical care, free education, housing if needed, welfare money, and of course access to the job market. There are already 16,000 Ukrainians living in Denmark, which works out to one third of one percent. Others will follow.

How many? No one really knows. It is still early days. People are in shock. Literally, one loud and convincing Ukrainian who really loves Denmark could convince a few hundred thousand Ukrainians to move to Denmark in a week. It would be completely legal.

Did I refer to Denmark? Not specifically, but I certainly referred to it. It is one of the EU nations that allows any Ukrainian who wants to live there and have almost all the benefits of citizenship IMMEDIATELY. A Ukrainian can walk over the border in Poland, and within a few minutes of filling out a form on a computer, be traveling to Denmark. On the way, she can apply for jobs in Denmark, and make an appointment to start getting welfare payments.

It is always like that for Russians. That is the danger in Russia having foreign wars. Even back during the Napoleonic Wars, Russians were shocked to learn how poor they were.

Ukraine was modernizing, and it meant Russia might have to modernize... Which would be the end of Putin.

Moldova is usually considered the poorest country in Europe, but with Russia's invasion of the Ukraine, it probably currently is the poorest country in Europe.

While Russia has a higher per capita GDP than Ukraine, that was very bunched up at the top with poorer more rural people having nothing. To a poor, rural Russian, many Ukrainian cities would seem like science fiction.

There are 2.5 million people in Moldova as against nearly 44 million in Ukraine.
