If you thought Florida couldn’t get any wackier,

it's says "an example" you fool
The stuff is pervasive.
If you want to argue for more transparency -OK fine- but typically textbooks
purchases are not.
It's not just CRT is Common Core which was replaced by BEST

I suggest Dems run on allowing CRT - it worked so well for you in Virginia
The law has majority Dems support in Fla as well

ROFLMAO. Yeah, and snow from Alaska is just as obvious of an example of what you would find in a textbook.

Something NOT found in a textbook is not an example of what is found in a textbook. It's made up shit because you can't provide any example from an actual textbook.

i dont have access to the textbooks, Like I said if you want to argue transparency -that's valid
Sitting there any saying CRT (not the formal cirricular but the uses) and not using Common Core are the reasons
But hey. just pretend it doesnt happen like VA

Democrats should run on a platform of opposing mass murder, and make all kinds of claims that Republicans are in favor of it. Same difference.

There is a reason you are a democrat and why democrat politicians rely on you. Dumb as fuck.

Actually, some people in Florida were shocked at videos of wackadoodles that were exposed on the libs of ticktock which compiles videos posted by the idiots themselves. These ”teachers” awakened a sleeping giant. The moral here, if you teach kids, have multiple face piercings, mulit colored hair, and publically express your woke views, don't look for a job in FL.

There are close to 200,000 teachers in Florida, and you are telling us that cause of handful of 200,000 teachers who are on Tic Toc doing something has generated a massive movement in reaction against teachers?

If one were to watch tic toc enough I am pretty sure you could find a similar representative number from any profession

My objection to Common Core is that it has proven to not work. There is substantial evidence that it hurts kid's learning. That it's being abandoned almost uniformly across the US now in both red and blue states, more than confirms that. It was just another fad in education like say, "New math" in the 70's. With Common Core, sensible and educated people who were outside the education establishment recognized quickly how stupid it was and began to complain. It took about a decade of failure to get the education types in academia to realize it and accept defeat.

Common Core also was not "simply standards of proficiency." It changed often radically, the way subjects were to be taught. Math in particular was egregiously badly taught using Common Core.

It was insanities like this that parents and well-educated persons in the 'real' world found objectionable:

But it was hardly limited to math:

WTF?? :dunno:

n one example of how “CRT is being injected in math instruction,” DeSantis spokesperson Christina Pushaw cited a piece of math homework from a public school in Missouri surrounding Maya Angelou’s past. Pushaw included an email from local school officials apologizing for the assignment that asked questions about the poet’s time as a prostitute and pimp, something they said came from outside the official curriculum.

“So instead of having a hissy fit because @GovRonDeSantis banned CRT math textbooks, ask yourself why CRT is being injected in math instruction to begin with?” Pushaw wrote on Twitter over the weekend. “I promise you, in China kids aren’t learning about pimping in math class.”

That's it, arguement over, DeSantis's spokesperson said she found a math homework assignment in Missouri that asked questions about a poet's past, all done, proven now, CRT is taught in all public schools in America

When a official Government spokesperson attempting to rationalize a policy or action has to resort to anecdotal narratives it automatically signals they're reaching

Yes.

Common Core contains addition. If Florida is not allowed to use anything that is in Common Core, then shouldn't they ban 100% of the math books?
i am not answering your stupid redacted moronic crap.
you can teach addition on an abacus -but that's not suitable either

you come up with the stupidest deflections instead of addressing the point

CRT is there. you keep coming up with this same deflection. I refer you to the Virginia parents being horrified at their textbooks - enough to change a trending blue state to red governor
But keep burying your head in the sand while Republicans get the word out and laws on the books
to stop this shit...see you in November

It's kind of funny that Republicans are the actual cancel culture masters.

The point is that DeSantis cannot come up with any evidence to backup his claims. He claims to have found examples that 50 states missed, thousands of local governments missed, a million schools missed, millions of teachers missed, tens of millions of students missed, and of course tens of millions of parents missed. When asked to prove that, he says he cannot.

I guess if you believe he is a honest man, with a saintly ability to always tell the truth, you do not need him to provide any proof. I see him as one of the slimier politicians around, so I demand evidence when he makes insane claims.

He lied.

You cannot use some half assed parallel discussion to give DeSantis any credibility, because your claims were debunked.

All you can do is the usual MAGA shuffle ... keep repeating insinuations and allegations but never admitting that the core facts don't support what you and the people you are defending are specifically wrong.

So, grow a pair and state in no uncertain terms that DeSantis cannot prove what he said. If you won't, that (once again)proves you're just a stupid MAGA minion squawking like a parrot.

I'm not supporting anyone on this. I stated what I found trying to look into it further myself. I'd think you'd applaud that effort since it appears I'm the only one that's bothered. Everyone else, you included, have just railed against what Florida did without bothering to take a look yourself.

And with typical MAGA intellectual dishonesty and cowardice, you won't state in no uncertain terms the DeSantis WAS DEAD WRONG...THAT HE HAS NO PROOF OF WHAT HE SAYS.

Whom do you think you're fooling with this "investigation" bullshit? All you'll do is just link & post every CRT boogeyman screed there is. I mean, YOU are going to do better in producing proof that a sitting governor and his staff of Ivy leaguers and political seniors couldn't/can't? Puh-leeze!

THE BURDEN OF PROOF IS ON DeSantis, NOT ME, genius. His statement, his accountability to the public. If he can't put up, then he's a liar.
Period.
But you've made this attempt to justify him, so we'll all periodically check your progress. I'll wager you try to blow it all off in less than 2 weeks. Carry on.

Actually, it was NOT a textbook, but an assignment taken from an on-line site by the teachers, that has since been removed

Good try by Pushaw, but still NOTHING about the content of those banned math texts.

my ophthalmologist (still need another cataract operation) wont let the women bring food in the office

She always wear long sleeves and a headress..
Another woman I know from the pool will never wear anything but a black t-shirt top

You've GOT to be fucking stupid to think that some on-line site's stuff can easily pass the muster for standard math text in any state or in the USA. Jeez! Get educated before you type, will ya please? https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...ya-angelous-sexual-abuse-sex-work/7387752001/
