If you thought Florida couldn’t get any wackier,

n one example of how “CRT is being injected in math instruction,” DeSantis spokesperson Christina Pushaw cited a piece of math homework from a public school in Missouri surrounding Maya Angelou’s past. Pushaw included an email from local school officials apologizing for the assignment that asked questions about the poet’s time as a prostitute and pimp, something they said came from outside the official curriculum.

“So instead of having a hissy fit because @GovRonDeSantis banned CRT math textbooks, ask yourself why CRT is being injected in math instruction to begin with?” Pushaw wrote on Twitter over the weekend. “I promise you, in China kids aren’t learning about pimping in math class.”

Ramadan ends May 1st with Feast of Eid ( Eid al-Fitr)
my ophthalmologist (still need another cataract operation) wont let the women bring food in the office
( it's torturous since she cant eat)

She always wear long sleeves and a headress..
Another woman I know from the pool will never wear anything but a black t-shirt top

I personally have no use for the religion - and I find most religions to have some good parts at least-
but these are pious people

It's funny how some people think a worksheet from Missouri can be found in textbooks in Florida.
Do you also find that snow in Alaska is found in textbooks in Florida?

it's says "an example" you fool
The stuff is pervasive.
If you want to argue for more transparency -OK fine- but typically textbooks
purchases are not.
It's not just CRT is Common Core which was replaced by BEST

I suggest Dems run on allowing CRT - it worked so well for you in Virginia
The law has majority Dems support in Fla as well

Is it your position that textbooks should be allowed to contain any sort of content the author(s) choose regardless of what that content is?

Since you seem to be on the side of the "math book banners" can you tells us what the objection is to Common Core Standards, which are simply standards of proficiency students are expected to reach by the end of each grade?
I think I can appreciate why a non-learner like Donald Trump objected to them, but why do conservatives generally?

My objection to Common Core is that it has proven to not work. There is substantial evidence that it hurts kid's learning. That it's being abandoned almost uniformly across the US now in both red and blue states, more than confirms that. It was just another fad in education like say, "New math" in the 70's. With Common Core, sensible and educated people who were outside the education establishment recognized quickly how stupid it was and began to complain. It took about a decade of failure to get the education types in academia to realize it and accept defeat.

Common Core also was not "simply standards of proficiency." It changed often radically, the way subjects were to be taught. Math in particular was egregiously badly taught using Common Core.

It was insanities like this that parents and well-educated persons in the 'real' world found objectionable:

But it was hardly limited to math:

That's not in Florida, and that is not actually from a math textbook.

”Florida rejects 54 math books, claiming critical race theory appeared in some.”

“The Florida education department has rejected 54 mathematics textbooks for its K-12 curriculum, citing reasons spanning the inclusion of critical race theory to Common Core learning concepts.”

“The rejected books make up a record 41% of the 132 books submitted for review, the Florida Department of Education said in a statement.”

“Of them, 28 were rejected because they "incorporate prohibited topics or unsolicited strategies, including [critical race theory]," the statement said.”

Love to see how one uses mathematics to teach CRT, maybe referring to select numbers as Prime designates class, especially if you write them using black ink. Don’t tell me making those denominators always on the bottom isn’t Marxists.

Did you look at, or read, any of the books in question? I wish you could learn how to not be a presumptuous ignoramus on steroids. :palm:

DeSantis just can’t help himself, attempting to portray himself as Trump lite, he has to insert all the right catch phrases and dog whistles in everything he says and does, in fact, nearly everything he does is centered upon the same theme

DeSantis has more intelligence in his small toe than you or the entire Party of Lying Jackasses.

November is going to be harsh on you leftist snowflakes. People are weary of the lies, the bullshit and the lunacy coming from the left.
;)

Of course not, but if you are rejecting a larger number of books unrelated to the humanities studies based upon something that isn't even taught one would have to ask why, especially when no explanation was given

It has nothing to do with reviewing appropriate books to fit the currciulum, rather just DeSantis taking another excuse to sneak the irreverent which appeals to the base

So you have read the contents of the books that were rejected?

No it isn't, no one is questioning states regulating textbooks, rather the deliberate strategdy of rejecting books over political issues and for political ends

Have you read any of the books that were rejected? If not, how can you make such a moronic hyperbolic claim? :palm:

Why are the Republicans so desperate to cancel Disney?

Why is Disney so desperate to teach children 5 through 8 sexuality in public schools? Why is Disney supporting a lie filled narrative?

They aren't canceling Disney. Stop with the stupid lying.
:palm:
