If you thought Florida couldn’t get any wackier,

”Florida rejects 54 math books, claiming critical race theory appeared in some.”

“The Florida education department has rejected 54 mathematics textbooks for its K-12 curriculum, citing reasons spanning the inclusion of critical race theory to Common Core learning concepts.”

“The rejected books make up a record 41% of the 132 books submitted for review, the Florida Department of Education said in a statement.”

“Of them, 28 were rejected because they "incorporate prohibited topics or unsolicited strategies, including [critical race theory]," the statement said.”

Love to see how one uses mathematics to teach CRT, maybe referring to select numbers as Prime designates class, especially if you write them using black ink. Don’t tell me making those denominators always on the bottom isn’t Marxists.

DeSantis just can’t help himself, attempting to portray himself as Trump lite, he has to insert all the right catch phrases and dog whistles in everything he says and does, in fact, nearly everything he does is centered upon the same theme

Poor anchovies. Examples of what some of the rejected books are in the other OP’s on this topic in this forum.

If it were not for idiots who vote against their own interests for seditious repukes who would prefer they all go to hell, these repuke atrocities on society would not happen. Vote blue wave in order to stifle the rancid red toxic wave of the sewer.

Yes, they are, but they aren't teaching the theory but rather using CRT to shape curricula and content. The most glaring example of it is the ongoing use of the 1619 Project framed as history rather than as historical fiction.

That isn't CRT and they are opinion pieces. Nice try.

Is it your position that textbooks should be allowed to contain any sort of content the author(s) choose regardless of what that content is?

Please explain to the reading audience precisely, in no-uncertain-terms how math text are being used to "teach" CRT to students. We'll wait.

Nice try at ad hominem as a red herring. The question on the table is, should states regulate textbook content?

Isn't it amazing how no other state and no other local system saw these problems? In fact, even the local school boards in Florida did not see these problems. DeSantis will not release these problems, but we know that no one else in the world saw a problem with these math books.

So we can either believe everyone else is too stupid to see the secret plot to promote racist math, and DeSantis is trying to cover it up, or that DeSantis is a liar, and trying to cover it up.

Note to the alt-lefties with their panties in a twist, stay out of Florida and you will be fine. Portland is an option.

We don't know that. Textbooks are bought in cycles by the various states. Texas is the biggest market and sales are locked in for six years. That is Texas buys new textbooks every six years. California and Florida are the next biggest markets. In Florida, the state sets a statewide usage and selects textbooks on that basis. Other states that are smaller markets do a variety of things.

So, in Florida, like Texas, textbooks are not selected by local school boards. They have no input. Instead the state has a state board that does the selection process.

Desantis showed a page he claimed is book proof. It is not in any way. It is not a from Florida and not a book. It is from a worksheet somewhere in Missouri. Lyingfish lives up to his name again.

We don't know that.

Actually we do. DeSantis' people are the only ones complaining. They are claiming the math books are full of CRT that is "repackaged" from other states. They even used that word: "repackaged." Why didn't anyone in the other states notice it?

50 million students at any time, with a similar number of parents, with millions of teachers, in 50 states, and thousands of local districts, maybe a million schools, and DeSantis is the first to notice...

Maybe if DeSantis could provide some examples... You say he refuses?

THIS JUST IN!!

When asked to cite specific examples to corroborate his claim that some Florida math books teach CRT, DeSantis REFUSES to provide any!
