more liberal insanity

Please, conservatives, DON'T FILE YOUR CENSUS! I want as few seats in conservative states as possible, and I want you to get as little of my money as possible!

Hey now some of us liberals live in conservative states!

But I do agree in principle with your statement.
The paranoia of the right is astounding. Fear of showing your ID in a town hall meeting for instance.

I have had to show an id for voting for the last 15 years at least.
Recently I do not usually have to show it because several of the poll workers know me.
I think it should be mandatory everywhere. I've never had anyone ask me for mine, and I've lived and voted in three states.

You would still have to show it at our polling place, we have to write down which type of identification you used.

A lot of people vote by mail.

How exactly are you going to "force" them to show ID?

Oddly enough, mail voters trend republican and conservative.

So I understand, as a rightwinger, you're real agenda here is to make voting more difficult for the brown people, the lower income people, and young people. Just come out and say it.

Mailed in voter forms should be picked up at the voter registry where they can check ID there. Is there a shortage of picture ID available to "the brown people, the lower income people, and young people" that I am unaware of? :pke:

Liberals just use racism as an excuse to be against mandatory IDs for voting. In reality, I think it has much more to do with the fact that dead people seem to overwhelmingly vote Democrat. It's really only the politicos that feel strongly about it. Your average rank-and-file Democrat probably thinks its a decent idea to prevent voter fraud. It's the politicos that spin these absurd justifications against it.

Republicans use fairy tales about dead people voting and "voter fraud" despite the lack of evidence to substantiate such fairy tales to enact laws that make it more difficult for legitimate voters that are more likely to vote democratic from voting.

Okay Dung. You're right.

Being required to show your ID, while totally acceptable if you want to ask a question at a town hall meeting, is a gross infringment of your rights if you want to vote in a presumably clean election in the first world.

yeah, the dead never vote in chicago.

I merely said that Republicans create unsubstantiated stories about dead people voting and voter fraud to enact voter id laws because they know that the people likely to be harmed by voter id laws are people likely to vote democrat.

If you think Republicans want to pass voter ID laws merely to ensure a clear election I've got a bridge I'd like to sell ya.

And the name is Turd.

Lack of evidence? What more evidence do you need than more votes were counted than voters registered in a County? *shrug*

My only beef with your above statement is calling the violations unsubstantiated. They are substantiated.

But yes I agree they do have a principled and an underhanded reason for pushing for those laws, just like Democrats have a principled and an underhanded reason for opposing them.
