The thread is whether Americans would fight. They would. People fight hard to protect their homeland and families. Americans are bigger and stronger than most countries' people because of better nutrition over a long period. There is no way to take over a country as big and developed as America.

Correct about taking over. The Russians can't even take over Ukraine.

Agreed that people would defend their homes and, if they feel connected to it, their homeland. The stats in the are a clue for those who are interested in the mindset of Americans.

I think it is situational.

Luxembourg, Denmark, Czechoslovakia let Nazi Germany walk in almost without taking a shot. Although minor resistance movements of negligible effectiveness emerged over time.

The Serbians fought to the death against the Nazi occupation. The Yugoslav partisan resistance was the stuff of legend.

I think each nation makes a calculation when faced with an invader of overwhelming force, about what their best course of action is.

Hello Nordberg,

Hello Dutch Uncle,

Even public universities are corrupted by the state, which is corrupted by big money. The onerous requirements placed on them severely hamper their ability and freedom to teach students what they really need to learn.

Perhaps the solution to why Americans have reduced faith in America actually lies in fighting corruption.

And that should be something that both sides can agree on.

hello fucking politalker, im responding to you here.

there really is vast agreement.

you need to decouple from the deep state and their crime families.

little bitch.

Hello Dutch,

The fucked up COVID response by the United States has a silver lining; a greater reliance on telecommunications and online learning. Why not build on that? Let students learn free online and then take midterms or finals at a public building after paying a small maintenance fee. Each class could end up costing $50.

The first two years of college are all core classes anyway. They could go to a brick & mortar college later (on their own dime) or finish up online (free). All programs would be accredited.

Excellent idea. I would be totally for that. Actually, it is something I have thought of for a long time. These courses are not rocket science. Naturally, there would have to be some more expense to have labs, but I don't see why it has to cost so much, or why administrators need to be paid so much. High schools so essentially all the same stuff for a lot less than colleges.

"Would Americans fight for their country like Ukrainians?"

Does anybody think for a minute that Donald Trump would stay and fight?

He would run like a scared ninny.

Or try to hide in a basement.

An online government program would be staffed by GS workers on a set pay scale. Yes, labs would require some innovation but most classes don't require labs. At least not many in the first two years.

He'd fly to Pedo Island and hide out there. :)

Science, Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Nursing. Office equipment. Role-training. There is actually a lot of lab oriented education that can happen directly out of high school. Some of it can be part of college degree programs, some of it not. If our country provides cheap or free (with qualifications) access to these kinds of programs our country benefits. I think we agree that it doesn't need to cost as much as college typically does, and we can do better.

The country helps produce the trained workers that create and fill the jobs that generate the revenue that makes the country function. The big picture is so clear, even though many on the right can not picture it at all.

Consider this:

Two hypothetical countries. All is the same for both except one difference. One country actively engages in government programs which produce workers to generate greater GDP, the other doesn't. The other country simply leaves it up to each individual to make it completely on his or her own; or fail and possibly become a burden on society. (In a society where the richest and most powerful create a system which favors them; and disfavors everyone else.)

I would expect that the country which actively engages in government programs which produce workers to generate greater GDP would experience a higher GDP, less desperation, and generally be a happier more functional, more successful country.

No doubt the Soviets and Red Chinese were the best educated in the world. LOL

Hopefully we can find a middle ground between dictatorships with high literacy rates and a free nation.

No Trump has served in the military. Trump's grandfather fled Germany when he thought he was getting drafted. Trumps talk.

Fact: Queen Elizabeth II had more time in the military than the entire Trump family and their in-laws. Elizabeth actively sought to serve and Trump did his best to avoid it.

When and where did Biden, Obama or Clinton serve? Be specific now dick breath.

Not sure where Biden was in those days but a son who not only served but died in the line of duty must count for something. Obama was too young for the draft but Clinton was a fucking draft dodger just like Trump and Rush Limbaugh.
