As noted to Cypress, there's indications the Russian Army is beginning to revolt. Such things can cascade quickly if the conditions are right and I believe they are.

With designated escape routes being bombed that may serve to inhibit fleeing.

FWIW, there's a good chance the Russian Army is seeing signs of mutiny. The two MI-24 Hinds which blew up a critical Russian fuel depot inside Russia, may have been Russian helicopters.

Without fuel to the invasion force, Russia can't advance nor send in reinforcements.

Occam's Razor: Are the Ukrainians supermen who successfully navigated the strongest air defense system in the world or, as we've already seen with fragging in the Russian Army, is it more likely pissed off Russians are revolting?

If Russia revolts, will Belarus follow? If so, will the non-NATO former Warsaw Pact nations assist?

I think USA has a well led and well equipped professional army that performs well under all circumstances.

If the question is how would America compare to Ukraine in a situation of total war in the face of an invader, I don't think we would be particularly formidable, outside of our professional army.

A bunch of untrained yahoos running around with their AR15s and shotguns would probably be more of a danger to civilians and our own professional soldiers, than the threat they would would pose to well armed and organized invaders.

Ukraine has a long history of being invaded by bloody thirsty adversaries bent on annihilation and pillage. There is kernel of truth to the fortitude of the East Slavs in defending their home and hearth against Invaders. Those poor bastards are still fighting ferociously to defend Marupiel and Kharkiv, even though those cities have been reduced to smoking piles of rubble.

America has not faced an invader in 220 years, and we have never faced a total war against invading forces in our entire history.

At best, America as a nation is untested in the realm of a total war against invaders on our soil. My guess, is that our nation would be relatively soft in the face of the utter destruction that the Ukranians are facing.

A major Russian fuel facility was attacked by two Russian-made Mi-24 Hind attack helicopters. The Russians say it's the Ukrainians but the Ukrainians are denying it's them.

IMO, it's a sign the Russian Army may be increasingly revolting.

None of JPP's resident white supremacist supporters have been able to tell the difference between a terrorist and a freedom fighter. Should the US be invaded, competent or not, there'd easily be a 100 million Americans against them.

At least some Iraqis welcomed the American invasion of Iraq. It looks like not very many Ukrainians outside of the Separatist zones have any affection for the Russians.
