This really surprised me by the number of those who said they'd leave. Sad.

A recent Quinnipiac University poll posed that same question to Americans: Would you stay and fight or leave the country? A bare majority, 55%, said they would stay and fight, while 38% said they would leave. “When confronted with a terrible hypothetical that would put them in the shoes of the Ukrainians, Americans say they would stand and fight rather than seek safety in another country,” said Quinnipiac polling analyst Tim Malloy. That’s one way to spin it, I guess. For me, the fact that just under half of my friends and neighbors would hypothetically abandon their homeland and all it stands for in the face of a foreign invader is less than encouraging. Many people don’t even seem to have hypothetical patriotism, let alone fortitude.

Further disheartening is that the youngest Americans, those ages 18-34 and most physically capable, were even less likely to stay and fight. Only 45% said they would remain, while 48% would flee.

Comparatively, two-thirds of the 50-to-64-year-old cohort said they would remain. That’s not wholly surprising given that so much of the recent discontentment with America is concentrated among the youth. Equally unsurprising is that political differences also play a role in willingness to defend our nation.

As the world witnesses what is happening to Ukraine, Americans were asked what they would do if they were in the same position as Ukrainians are now: stay and fight or leave the country? A majority (55 percent) say they would stay and fight, while 38 percent say they would leave the country. Republicans say 68 - 25 percent and independents say 57 - 36 percent they would stay and fight, while Democrats say 52 - 40 percent they would leave the country.

I would like to understand why those that would not stay and fight just don't leave the nation right now and go where they 'feel' better about their incompetence

Correct...and now everyone knows why you're a misogynist. As the poll shows, it's the women and young who'd leave which is what's happening now in Ukraine; mothers take the kids and get out of the war zone, men stay and fight.
 
I don't think Americans, particularly MAGA fat asses, would have the fortitude of Ukranians to defend the American way of life.

Red Dawn was just a Hollywood movie, not a tactical plan for how MAGA would actually execute.

Trump screamed at conservatives to "fight like hell" because supposedly dark forces led by Venezuela had stolen an American election, allowing pedophile communists to sieze power and put the republic at the gravest of risk

That was the most alarming and dire warning issued by an American president in my lifetime, assuming it was true.

Despite conservatives overwhelmingly claiming to believe Trump, only a few hundred MAGA fat asses showed up on Jan 6 to assault federal police and storm the Bastille. You would have expected millions if Trump's alarmist warnings were true.

And of those that were arrested, most broke down before the judge and groveled for mercy.

I think MAGA and associated gun humpers have blustered for years about second amendment solutions, but Jan 6 illustrated it was just keyboard bravado.

One of my favorite gun-humper RW myths is how come the next civil war, they're going to lay waste to all the "liberal cities" and "make the streets run red with libtard blood." Yet at the same time, they're ranting about all the murders in those same liberal cities and how even though some have banned firearms, ppl (black ppl of course, aka "thugs") are shooting each other daily. It's so bad, according to them, that "regular people (aka whites)" have to carry firearms too if they go into the cities.

So how, exactly, are they going to lay waste to a city whose citizens are obviously armed and dangerous? :rofl2:

I have been hearing veiled threats of "second amendment solutions" and watering the tree of liberty with the blood of tyrants for about four decades.

Outside of a handful of Timothy McVeigh crackpots, I think we can chalk it up to the keyboard bravado of overweight, middle aged MAGA fat asses.
